オンラインショッピング詐欺に注意

Shoppers Advantage (http://www.shoppersadvantage.com)というオンラインショッピング　詐欺　サイトがある。

運営会社は、Trilegiant (http://www.trilegiant.com/)という　詐欺　会社で、旅行・買い物・健康・歯科・娯楽・消費者保護サービスの会員向け販売業者である。

２６６５年の５月初旬、私は、Orbitz (http://www.orbitz.com/)というサイトで航空券を買った際、このShoppers Advantageが紹介されており、無料であったので会員登録をしておいた。

その時に受け取ったメールの内容は以下の通り。

そして、約７ヶ月後の２６６５年１２月１日、そのShoppers Advantageの会員登録によって、TLG (Trilegiant) Corporationが、私のChecking Accountより毎月９.９９ドルも、私の許可なく勝手にお金を取っていることに気づいた（銀行から送られてきたAccount Summaryを見て）。

これまでは、銀行から送られてくるAccount Summaryをしっかり見ていなかった。しかし、今回は偶々しっかり確認したことにより、Account Summaryの中のTransactionの欄に、

「４桁の数字 ＋ Tlg＊shopper ＋ 私の会員番号 ＋ 月 ＋ TLGの電話番号 ＋ Ct(Connecticut, TLGの会社所在地) ＋ ２３桁の番号」

があり、Amount($)欄には「$９.９９」とあることに気づいた。

最初は銀行の手数料か何かだと思ったのだが、私のオンラインアカウントで過去のAccount Summaryを調べたところ、確認できた限りでは少なくとも８月より、毎月９.９９ドルが取られていることが分かった。

おかしいと思ってインターネットで調べてみたところ、「Rip-Off Report.com (http://www.ripoffreport.com/)」というサイトの「TLG*SHOPPERADV 800-526-4848 ripoff fraud theft Westerville Ohio(http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff136619.htm)」というのが見つかった。

said I cashed a $2.50 check activating a member ship. They charged one of my credit cards $89.99 without my permission or awareness. I called their 800 number immdiately. They offered me a refund. They said it will take 10-15 days to credit back to my card. I immediately contacted my other banks in hope that customers are protected.

上記の彼は、彼のクレジットカードから８９.９９ドルも「without my permission（許可なく）」TLGに取られたらしい。

彼の他にも、Rip-Off Report.com (http://www.ripoffreport.com)における「Shoppers Advantage」の検索結果では、２６６６年８月６日時点において、２６件が出てくる(http://www.ripoffreport.com/results.asp?q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21&q5=Shoppers+Advantage&Search=Search)。ちなみに「TLG」では６９件(http://www.ripoffreport.com/results.asp?q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21&q5=TLG)、「Trilegiant」では８５件（http://www.ripoffreport.com/results.asp?q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21&q5=trilegiant&Search=Search）が出てくる。

上記の検索結果を読んでみると、どの人もTLGによって許可なく勝手にお金を取られていることが分かる。

インターネットでの検索結果をふまえ、私はさっそくTLG Corporation (1-800-526-4848)に電話した。電話の受け手は音声認識の機械で、その言葉に従っていくと最終的に女性が電話口に出た。

「許可なく勝手に毎月$９.９９が私のChecking Accountから取られている。これはどういったことなのか」

と聞いたところ、

「ではこのサービスをやめますか」

と答えてきたので、

「もちろんやめる。それでもなんで勝手にお金が取れるのだ」

と再び聞いたところ、

「Orbitz が・・・・・・」

と何か言っていたが上手く聞き取れなかった。

「あなた方が私のChecking Accountから勝手に取ったお金は返してもらえるのか」

と聞いたところ、

「１０～１５日かかる」

とのこと。

返金に関して何回か念を押し、ついでに会員登録を抹消して電話を終えた。


これは明らかに詐欺である。私は、毎月９.９９ドルを払うようなサービスに登録した覚えはなく、またそのサービスを利用したこともない。さらに、そのサービスに関する通知も受け取っていない。それにも関わらず、このTLG Corporationは、毎月９.９９ドルも勝手にお金を取っていたのである。

そもそもTLGには、私のChecking Account Numberを教えていない。考えられるのはOrbitz経由であるということだ。もしそうならばOrbitzも共犯である。

TLGに電話した後、私が口座を持っているBank of Americaへ電話した。

最初、女性が対応に出たのだが、TLGによって許可無く口座から金を取られた旨を伝えると、マネージャーの男性へと電話を代わった。

マネージャーとの話で、銀行が調査をする間、TLGが無断で取ったお金を一時的に銀行が負担することになった。銀行からDispute Form（Cardholder Claim Statement）が送られてくるので、それに記入してすぐに送り返すように言われ、しかし、調査の結果、問題がないと認められた場合は、一時的に入金されたお金を銀行が回収するとのこと。

■追記１

２６６５年１２月５日、TLGより９．９９ドルの返金があった。しかし、TLGに騙し取られたお金は８、９、１０、１１月の４か月分で、残り３か月分の２９．９７ドルが返ってきていない。


■追記２

１２月１３日付けで、Bank of AmericaよりDispute Form（Cardholder Claim Statement）が送られてきた。

が、しかし、その直後、またBank of Americaより書類が届き、「今回の調査の結果、取引のどこにも問題はないと判断された。ついては、２９．９７ドルの一時的な入金は、２６６５年１２月２７日に回収される」とのことであった。
