彫刻家 高田博厚の神奈川県鎌倉市にあるアトリエが閉鎖されることを受けて、所蔵する彫刻作品などが埼玉県東松山市に寄贈されることになりました。
高田博厚は日本とフランスを拠点に創作活動を行った日本を代表する彫刻家で、昭和６２年に亡くなりました。
晩年を過ごした神奈川県鎌倉市にあるアトリエの閉鎖に伴い、所蔵する彫刻作品およそ１００点を含む書籍など数千点が、埼玉県東松山市に寄贈されることになり、２日、式典が開かれました。
式典では、遺族から東松山市の森田光一市長に寄贈する作品などの目録が手渡されたあと、遺族や親交のあった文化人などが生前の思い出を語り合っていました。
東松山市では３０年余り前から、街なかに高田博厚の作品を展示していて、森田市長は「高田博厚の彫刻が並ぶプロムナードと合わせて、寄贈を受けた作品を多くの人に見てもらえる機会をつくりたい」と話していました。
