先月、徳島県鳴門市の徳島自動車道で高校生などが乗ったマイクロバスにトラックが追突し、２人が死亡１４人がけがをした事故で、逮捕されたトラックの運転手が事故直前の状況について「眠かった」と話していることが、捜査関係者への取材でわかりました。
先月２５日、鳴門市の徳島自動車道の下り車線で、高校生など１６人が乗ったマイクロバスが路肩に停車中トラックが追突し、マイクロバスに乗っていた高校１年の森下汐音さん（１５）と運転手の岡本勉さん（３０）の２人が死亡したほか、１４人が重軽傷を負いました。
この事故で逮捕されたトラックの運転手、菊池誉司容疑者（５０）が警察の調べに対し、事故直前の状況について「眠かった」と話していることが、捜査関係者への取材で新たにわかりました。
警察のこれまでの調べで、菊池容疑者は事故当時、制限速度を２０キロほど上回る時速およそ９０キロで走行し、現場にはブレーキの痕がなかったことがわかっています。
警察は、トラックが減速しないままマイクロバスに追突したと見て、引き続き詳しい状況を調べています。
