"Down with the railways!"
打倒鉄道！やめちまえ！

He said railways should be closed so (that) coaches, busesand cars could do everything instead.
バスや車が代わりに全部出来るように、鉄道は閉鎖するべきだと彼は言いました。

He waited for a few minutes, hoping more would turn up, but none did.
(乗客が)もっと現れないかと願いながら、数分待ったけど、誰も来ませんでした。

Bulgy pulled away.
バルジーは走り出しました。

"Yah! Boo! Snubs!"
やーい！べーっ！高飛車野郎！

Duck knew they had to stop Bulgy (from) taking their passengers.
ダックは、彼らが乗客を連れてゆくバルジーを止めなくてはならないと分かっていました。

But Bulgy was about to be stopped.
しかし、バルジーは止められようとするところでした。

His short cut led down a narrow road with a low bridge.
彼の近道は、低い橋の付いた狭い道路の向こうへ続いていました

He ground to a halt.
彼は停止するまで激しく擦りました。

"So, that is Bulgy's so-called short cut!"
そっか、これがバルジーのいわゆる近道ってやつか！

He still thought he could take over the railway.
彼は未だに彼が鉄道の乗っ取りができると考えています。

The hens enjoyed hearing about his grand adventures on the bus route, and how terrible engines were.
鶏たちは、彼のバス回路での武勇伝と、機関車がどんなに酷かったかを聞いて喜びました。

They didn't know any better.
彼らはそれくらいの知恵しかありませんでした。
