「ジョージィ！」という私の原作が、イタリアでアニメ版がオンエアされたりミュージカルとして劇場で上演されていることは、お伝えしましたが現地のファンクラブの方から、英語のコメントをいただきました。

よくまぁ、私の日本語のブログを探し当てたものですが・・・・

いい大人の男性もいたり、メキシコの男の子もいたりするので驚いています。

私の考えでは、ジョージィは突然現れたアベルに心が揺れますが、アーサーをお父さんだと思い込んだ子供のために、アベルのほうが身を退くと思います。
ジョージィも自分の思いより、３歳となったわが子の思いのほうを尊重します。

しかし、続編はあなた方読者の造像力に委ねているので、あなた達が好きなように物語を考えてください。

私はもうすっかり忘れているのですが、ジョージィとアベルの子に私は名前をつけていましたっけ？　もし、つけてなかったら、あなたの好きな名前を考えてください。

ちなみに、コミック版ではページの制約で入りきれなかったエピソードを一つ、教えましょう。

ジョージィとロエルの再会のシーンですが、あの時のロエルは実は貴婦人相手のジゴロに身を落としています。

残酷すぎますか？

Dear Lady Georgie’s Fan Group,

Thank you very much again for your demonstrated enthusiasm about one of my works.
Currently, I have no plan to write a sequel to Lady Georgie. Actually, I once tried to write a sequel quite a while ago, but, due to circumstances out of my control, I could not complete it as I wished.

For your interest, I would like to briefly share some ideas that I nurtured and held for a possible sequel.

As you could tell from the original story of Lady Georgie, nothing implies the determined death of Adbel, which could be optionally interpreted as that he might have been saved right before his execution.

With this in my mind, I was going to write a story as:

The story starts with a scene that Abel abruptly comes into a place in Australia where Georgie, the child of Georgie and Abel, and Arthur live together.

Again, in the original story, nothing is specifically mentioned about marriage of Georgie and Arthur. You could think of two possibilities:
1. They got married.
2. Georgie would raise her baby by herself getting support from Arthur, keeping a special and dedicated space only for Arthur in her mind for good.

In fact, these are the only ideas I had.

I now think that Georgie will lose her composure when she unexpectedly sees Abel, but, Abel will decide to withdraw himself and leave her eventually for the sake of Georgie’s child who believes that his/her father is Arthur without any doubt. Georgie also will respect her child who turned three years old more than her affective attachment to Abel.

This is just one idea for a sequel, and I would like to leave the choice to creativity of readers. I also would like to encourage you to develop a story as you like and feel comfortable.

I have to tell you that I do not remember if I gave a name to the child of Georgie and Abel. Does anyone remember? If no name has been given, please pick a name for the child.

Lastly, I would like to share one episode which could not be included as a part of the comic version of story because of the limited pages.

It is about the scene where Georgie and Roel came across each other again. To tell the truth, Roel had abandoned his moral compass and became a gigolo to serve noblewomen at that time.

Do you think his fate was too cruel?

Please allow me to give you my excuse of not posting my comment for long since last time.
I am very happy now because early this morning (in Japan time) I got a chance to catch a glimpse of a potential sequel of the story, and I would like to say thank you to Georgie’s Fan Club in Italy for asking such a great question.

I have been longing for a sequel of Georgie for more than thirty years. I am reassuring myself that we are now in such a wonderful era to be able to instantly access to a scenario plotted and directly shared by the author himself!

“I now think that Georgie will lose her composure when she unexpectedly sees Abel, but, Abel will decided to will withdraw himself and leave her eventually for the sake of Georgie’s child who believes that his/her father is Arthur without any doubt. I could not think of any more compelling options than Abel not losing his life, which completely wins my heart and mind. Knowing that you allow us to imagine the subsequent story, I am now happy in tears.

My version of story would be like this:

When Abel Jr. (the child of Abel) is around fourteen years old, his/her life gets endangered, then, either Abel or Arthur saves Abel Jr., sacrificing his life. Abel Jr. speaks to the man who is dying in his/her arms and tells that he/she knew that the dying man is/is not his/her biological father. Also, Abel Jr. says that he/she has recognized genuine fatherhood from both Abel and Arthur. After hearing that, the man in Jr.’s arms appreciates all what has been done by the other man (either Abel or Arthur) for Abel Jr. who has grown up as a strong and compassionate child.

This morning, I indulged myself in such delusion and started crying since I was so moved... Mr. Izawa, I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I wish you could share your idea with the fans in Italy at an earliest occasion. I am very sorry that I cannot help you for translation of your feedback while I can only wish you things go well for you and your fan.

I understand that you have no plan to write a sequel of Georgie and look forward to your new dramas.

意味は解ります・・・・

 なんで、この物語がとりわけイタリアで好まれるのか（他の欧州数か国でも出版されたり、アニメのオンエアがあったのに）、日本よりイタリアでセミ古典化されそうな予感・・・・。

映画化してくれないかな・・・・。
