It was a clear night on February 9, so I went out to the parking lot with my binoculars to see if I could see Comet ZTF C/2022 E3 .
今日は、火星とカペラの間の、ぎょしゃ座の一角のハッサレーの近くに有るらしい。
Today it seems to be near Hassareh in the corner of Auriga, between Mars and Capella.
でもほとんど天頂近くでかなり見上げないと火星すら視野に入らない。
But I can't even see Mars unless I look up pretty close to the zenith.
天を仰ぎながら、双眼鏡でハッサレーと火星の間を探してみるが、よく判らない。
I looked up at the sky and tried to find the space between Hassaray and Mars with binoculars, but I couldn't find it.
晴れてはいる物の、肉眼で3等星がやっとの長野市近郊では、双眼鏡では彗星を見つけられなかった。
Although it is fine, I can barely see the 3rd magnitude star in the suburbs of Nagano City. I couldn't find the comet with my binoculars.
見えないとなると、何となく悔しい物で、つい望遠鏡を引っ張り出してみて見た。
When I couldn't see it, I felt somewhat frustrated and took out my telescope.
ちなみに、20:30頃には18夜過ぎの月が上がってくるので余り時間はない。
Around 20:30, the moon will rise , so there is not much time.
極軸を合わせ、なんとかぎょしゃ座の一角のハッサレーを視野に入れて、周辺を探すと、薄っすらと淡い光芒が確認出来た。
After aligning the polar axis, I managed to find Hassaray in the corner of the constellation Auriga, and when I searched the surroundings, I was able to confirm a faint and faint beam of light.
たぶん、これがZTF彗星だろう。
Maybe this is Comet ZTF.
家内を呼んできて、見せた後、写真を撮っておこうと、コリメート撮影してみた。

久しぶりの撮影で、CHDKの使い方もすっかり忘れて、15秒露出しか出来なかった。
I completely forgot how to use CHDK, so I could only use a SS=15s.

近日点を過ぎて、少し暗くなったのとテールの伸び具合が小さくなっていま一つ迫力に欠けるなぁ、、、
