英国New Waveバンド、アダム＆ジ・アンツのベーシスト、ケヴィン・ムーンが結成したニュー・バンド"Max"のデビュー・アルバム。トレヴァー・ホーンが5曲のプロデュースを始めミックス等で全面参加。アダム＆ジ・アンツの同僚マルコ・ピローニも作曲で参加している。またシンニード・オコナーがゲスト参加している。1991年にZTTレコードから"Lomax"としてアルバム"1001 Nights"をリリースする計画だったが頓挫。バンド名を変更、収録曲を一部差し替えてのリリースとなった。
