『日本書紀』允恭天皇 5
是後、皇后登祚之年、覓乘馬乞蘭者而數昔日之罪以欲殺、爰乞蘭者、顙搶地叩頭曰「臣之罪實當萬死。然當其日、不知貴者。」於是皇后、赦死刑、貶其姓謂稻置。
三年春正月辛酉朔、遺使、求良醫於新羅。秋八月、醫至自新羅、則令治天皇病、未經幾時病已差也。天皇歡之、厚賞醫以歸于國。
≪英訳≫
After the Empress ascended to the throne, she sought out the man who had asked for wild garlic while on horseback, intending to punish him for his past crime. However, when the man, touching his forehead to the ground, pleaded, "My crime indeed deserves death. But at that time, I did not know you were such a noble person," the Empress decided to spare his life and demoted his rank, giving him the surname Inaki.
In the third year, in the first month, on the first day, an envoy was sent to Silla(新羅) to seek a good physician. In the eighth month of autumn, a physician arrived from Silla and treated the Emperor's illness. In a short time, the illness was cured. The Emperor was very pleased and rewarded the physician generously before sending him back to his country.
≪この英文の和訳≫
皇后が即位された後、馬に乗って野蒜（のびる）を求めた男を探し出し、過去の罪を罰しようとされました。しかし、その男は額を地に付けて「私の罪は確かに死に値します。しかし、あの時はそんなに高貴なお方になられるとは思いもしませんでした」と嘆願しました。皇后はその男の命を助け、位を下げて「稲置（いなき）」という姓を与えられました。
(在位)三年目の春、一月一日に、使者を新羅（しらぎ）に送り、良い医者を求められました。秋の八月に、新羅から医者が到着し、天皇の病気を治療しました。短い期間で病気は治り、天皇は大変喜ばれ、その医者に厚く礼をして国に帰されました。
