六年春正月癸未朔戊子、立草香幡梭皇女、爲皇后。辛亥、始建藏職、因定藏部。二月癸丑朔、喚鯽魚磯別王之女太姬郎姬・高鶴郎姬、納於後宮、並爲嬪。於是、二嬪恆歎之曰「悲哉、吾兄王、何處去耶。」天皇聞其歎而問之曰「汝何歎息也。」對曰「妾兄鷲住王、爲人强力輕捷、由是、獨馳越八尋屋而遊行。既經多日、不得面言、故歎耳。」天皇、悅其强力以喚之、不參來、亦重使而召、猶不參來、恆居於住吉邑。自是以後、廢以不求、是讚岐國造・阿波國脚咋別、凡二族之始祖也。
三月壬午朔丙申、＊天皇玉體不悆、水土弗調、崩于稚櫻宮。時年七十。冬十月己酉朔壬子、葬百舌鳥耳原陵。

In the sixth year of his reign, on the sixth day of the first month of spring, Kusaka no Hatabi no Himemiko was established as Empress. On the twenty-ninth day, for the first time, the position of Kuratsukasa (Chief of the Treasury) was created, and the duties of the Kurahito (Treasury staff) were defined.
On the first day of the second month, the daughters of Funakuwake no Okimi, Futohime no Iratsume and Takatsuru no Iratsume, were summoned to the imperial palace and made consorts. These two constantly lamented, saying, "It is sorrowful. Where has our brother, the prince, gone?"
The Emperor, hearing their lamentations, inquired, "Why are you lamenting?" They replied, "Our brother, Washisumi no Okimi, is strong and agile. He leaped over the great house of eight spans by himself. It has been many days, and we have not been able to meet and speak with him. That is why we lament."
The Emperor, pleased by his strength, summoned him. However, he did not come. Another messenger was sent, but he still did not come.
Washisumi no Okimi was always in Suminoe Village. After this, he was no longer summoned or sought. He became the ancestor of the Sanuki Kuni no Miyatsuko (provincial governors of Sanuki) and Ashikuiwake of Awa Province.
On the fifteenth day of the third month, the Emperor's august body was indisposed, and the realm was in disorder.

He passed away at the palace of Wakasakura at the age of seventy.
In the winter, on the fourth day of the tenth month, he was buried at Mozu no Mimizuka (Mozu Ear Mound).

治世の六年目の春の一月六日、草香幡梭皇女（くさかのはたびのひめみこ）が皇后に立てられました。二十九日には、初めて蔵職（くらのつかさ）が設けられ、蔵部（くらひとべ）の役割が定められました。
二月一日、鮒魚磯別王（ふなくわけのおおきみ）の娘である太姫郎姫（ふとひめのいらつめ）と高鶴郎姫（たかつるのいらつめ）が召され、後宮に入って＊嬪（みめ）となりました。この二人は常に「悲しい。我が兄王はどこに行かれたのだろう」と嘆いていました。

古代、天皇の寝所に侍する女官。皇后・妃・夫人の下位。四位・五位の者で、後世の女御(にょうご)・更衣こういにあたる〔コトバンク〕
天皇はその嘆きを聞いて尋ねられました。「なぜ嘆いているのか」と。彼女たちは答えました。「私たちの兄である鷲住王（わしすみのおおきみ）は力強く、敏捷で、一人で八尋屋（やひろや：高く大きい家）を飛び越えて行ってしまいました。もう何日も経っているのに、会って話すことができません。それで嘆いているのです」と。
天皇は、その力の強さを喜んで彼を召しました。しかし、彼は来ませんでした。さらに使者を出されましたが、それでも来ませんでした。
鷲住王（わしすみのおおきみ）はいつも住吉邑（すみのえのむら）にいました。これ以後、彼を呼ぶのをやめて求められることはありませんでした。彼は讃岐国造（さぬきのくにのみやつこ）と阿波国（あわのくに）の脚咋別（あしくいわけ）の二族の祖先となりました。
三月十五日、天皇は病気になられ、体調が悪化し、国土の治安が乱れていた＊(水土弗調)」。

稚桜宮（わかさくらのみや）で崩御されました。享年七十。
冬の十月四日、百舌鳥耳原陵（もずのみみはらのみさぎ）に葬られました。
＊「天皇玉體不悆、水土弗調」という言葉は、以下のような意味を持っています。
