教育

Education is discovering. It's an exploration. It's a question of how you explore, of finding your new frontier for yourself. Widening up the world for you, that's very important. But I want to emphasize the interpretation of the world "education" itself. Education is not about learning math, or learning chemistry or leaning history. Education is about building up your life. That point has to be integrated with the education system. Unfortunately, our present education system, in general, everywhere, is not about you as a person. It's about others. In history, you learn what others have done. There is no score for what you would like to be. I think the core of education is to explore yourself in relation to the rest of the world. One of the issues that should be integrated at every level of education, year after year, is to ask yourself, "Who am I?" "What am I supposed to be?" "What is the task ahead of me?" "What do I decide for myself?" We never hear those questions. Today our education is very job-oriented. You gorw up. You get degrees and line up for work. I think that's a very poor kind of education. Education should enable you to explore your unlimited potential. From the beginning you should believe you have unlimited potential. You could then learn how to use this immense capacity. "What kind of world do I want to build?" A child should be wondering about that every year, at school. And if it's relevant. "Is what I'm learning relevant to me?" "Will it help me create the sort of world I wish for?" That part is very important for me, regarding education.
