The final round of the Iranian presidential election was won by reformist Pezeshkian, who values dialogue with the West. He has made the lifting of economic sanctions his priority and is calling for improved relations with the West. Many people say that Pezeshkian gained support by serving as a receptacle for people who are dissatisfied with the government run by conservative hardliners. The people of Iran hope that their lives will become easier, just like the British people. I think that the lives of the people of Iran will be in chaos, just like in the UK.

However, in Iran, the wishes of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei play a major role in important issues such as security, so it is unclear to what extent a policy change can actually be achieved under the new government.

Ayatollah Khamenei announced his comments, saying, "I want to continue President Raisi's line." The election is fair. However, the reality of Iran is in the hands of Ayatollah Khamenei.
