往年の名車が神奈川県三浦半島を走り抜けるクラシックカーラリーが開かれています。
スタート地点となった横須賀市の三笠公園には、１９２０年代以降にヨーロッパなどで生産された５３台のクラシックカーが全国から参加し、スタート前には訪れた人たちがクラシックカーを見て楽しみました。
このうち、最も古い車は、１９２６年に生産されたフランスのメーカーのブガッティの名車で注目を集めていました。ラリーは午前９時半から始まり、三浦半島をめぐるおよそ１００キロのコースの途中にはチェックポイントが設けられ、ドライバーが決められた時間にどれだけ近いタイムで通過できるかを競って慎重に運転していました。
沿道には地元の人などが多く訪れ、クラシックカーに向かって手を振ったり写真を撮ったりしていました。クラシックカーラリーを主催した愛好家の岡野正道さんは「昔の車は独特のデザインが魅力です。多くの人に古いモノを大切にする気持ちをもってもらいたい」と話していました。
