見てないですが、以前のNHK朝ドラの舞台だったそうですね。

月島の懐かしき風景をどうぞ。

Although I did not see it, a year long NHK television series was set in Tsukishima.

Enjoy some pictures of Tsukishima that still retain its old charm.

月島

明治時代から始まった東京湾の埋め立て地だそうです、すごい！

隅田川から中二通りにある商店街、月島西仲通り商店街。

50軒以上ものもんじゃ屋があり、別名『月島もんじゃ通り』とも言われてます。


Tsukishima

Wow! I knew this place was reclaimed land from Tokyo bay
but what I did not know was that the reclaiming started in from the year 1982.

This is the Tsukishima Nishinaka Dori shopping area.

With over 50 monjya restaurants, its also called Tsukishima Monjya road.

あのセミの鳴き声、夏を感じますね。

珍しく家のベランダの遊びに来てくれました。

ビデオを撮ろうと思ったら黙りやがった。

アメリカの東の方では日本みたいにいっぱいいるそうですが

僕が住んでいたカリフォルニアにはいなかったので、なんか懐かしい『和』って感じ。


Cicada

These little creatures only come out in the summer and make a hell of a lot of noise.

A little visitor on my eighth floor patio.

We never had cicadas in California but I understand they are common during the summer

in the eastern parts of the United States.
