第１ゲーム、チリッチの３本連続サービスエースから錦織はデュースに持ち込むも、２度目のデュースから最後はチリッチがセンターにサービスエースを決めサービスキープに成功する。

第２ゲーム、錦織はこの試合初のサービスエースと決めるも、他のポイントではストローク戦にもつれることが多く、ポイント獲得に苦しむもこのゲームをキープに成功する。

第３ゲーム、チリッチは錦織のアプローチショットをロブで返えされ、チャンスを作ることが出来ず、40-15からチリッチがサービスキープする。

第４ゲームで錦織は30-40の場面でバックハンドをミスし、第３セットも先にブレークを許す。

第５ゲームもチリッチの攻撃的なプレーから最後はスマッシュを決められ、チリッチがサービスゲームをキープする。

第６ゲーム、錦織がフォアハンドのウィナーを決めラブゲームでサービスキープに成功する。

第７ゲームで錦織は15-40としブレークチャンスを掴むも、チリッチのセンターのサービスエースでデュースに持ち込まれ、チリッチはドロップショット、バックハンドのウィナーを決めサービスキープする。

第８ゲーム、錦織の積極的な攻めから40-30とし、サービスキープする。

第９ゲームはチリッチのダブルフォルトもあったが、チリッチがサービスキープに成功し、１時間５４分でチリッチの優勝となった。

両者は８度目の対戦となり、これまでの対戦成績は５勝２敗としている。

両者はいずれもこれが初のグランドスラムの決勝進出となる。
