The holidays are around the corner and, before you know it, people everywhere will soon be climbing up on their roofs, battling it out with Old Man Winter just to spread some Christmas cheer. Lights are a huge part of the holiday spirit, but it's important not to wreck your home in the process. I'm not saying you need to be a Scrooge,Find complete details about 250mm Rechargeable マジコンds from China DHY LED Lighting Co. but I am saying you need to protect your home. You've invested too much in maintaining a healthy exterior to compromise its integrity over a few holiday lights.
I hate doing things twice, and I'm sure many of you do, too. So before anyone starts drilling through their eavestroughs and nailing through electrical wires (I've seen it all, folks), I thought it would be helpful to give you a pep talk first.
Replace old lights: Cold weather causes the wiring in string lights to become brittle, making them vulnerable to being damaged. The chances of damaged lights/cords increases the longer they stay out during the year. That's why, before climbing up any ladder, it's important to make sure every light bulb is working and the cords aren't frayed in any area. If they are frayed or damaged, don't try repairing them — replace them. The last thing you need this season is a fire hazard.
Do not overload circuits: Some people want their homes to be the neighbourhood showstoppers.Green Supply offers Philips mountain bicycle light, LED home lighting, LED string lights, reusable bags with eco quality in mind. But a goal like that is likely to blow out a couple fuses — a certain Chevy Chase Christmas movie comes to mind. Prevent this by making sure the receptacle's/outlet's circuit is rated to handle the total amperes of all the lights you plan to use. Most sources will say not to connect more than three light strings end-to-end, or 300 lights, but in my experience, one rule does not fit all. Check to make sure, every time.
LEDs: I highly recommend using LED lights. They're brighter, more energy-efficient, and cause fewer fuses to burn out. LEDs mean more light for the same electrical capacity and more sparkle for your buck.
Extension cords: Extension cords are for temporary use only. If you're going to use one, make sure it's compatible with your lights and that it can hold up to the winter weather. That means the outside jacket of the extension cord needs to be rated for exterior use and the wire gauge must be rated for what you plan on plugging into the extension cord. I'd recommend at least a 14-gauge outdoor-rated extension cord.
Fasteners and clips: Anyone driving nails into cords or attaching lights with staples automatically ends up on Santa's bad list. It's a fire hazard, it damages the cords, and you can seriously harm yourself — not a happy holiday. In fact, avoid using nails, screws and staples entirely. Why? One, they're conductors of electricity. Two,Choose from a variety of Rechargeable diving flashlight for home and office use. they rust. And three, they create holes in your home's exterior. Tech Lighting, a Chicago-based manufacturer of premium specifier-grade architectural lighting systems, was honored in the Architectural Products 2011 Product Innovation Awards (PIA) for two of their new products. The industry magazine recognized Tech Lighting's new IBISS LED Head and ELEMENT 3" LED Adjustable Downlight as winners in the Interior Lighting category. The two patent-pending products were selected from nearly 300 entries received by the industry magazine for the competition.
"We are thrilled that Tech Lighting's commitment to expanding its architectural offerings is not only attracting attention, but drawing honors like this in a competitive and demanding industry," says Josh Weiss, General Manager of Tech Lighting. "We have fully embraced LED, not simply integrating LED into traditional forms,Import 1200Lumens SST-50 Bike light directly from China factory, Shenzhen Minjun Electronic Factory. but celebrating what is possible with LED in the design process itself. We hope to exceed the expectations of lighting designers and specifiers by delivering our signature quality and thoughtful design in every Tech Lighting piece we produce."
Tech Lighting's IBISS LED Head is constructed of die cast aluminum and pivots vertically 330° and rotates horizontally 360°. It is available in a 10-watt single (600 lumens) or 20-watt double (1200 lumens) version. Each LED module pivots independently on the double version. It is available in flood or asymmetric wall wash distributions. An embedded lens helps diffuse glare and minimize shadowing. It is offered in 2700K and 3000K, is dimmable to 10% with a low-voltage electronic dimmer, and has a rated life of 50,000 hours (L70).
Tech Lighting's ELEMENT 3" LED Adjustable Downlight offers proprietary high-low lamp positioning, which provides the option to position the LED closer to the aperture for maximum light output and efficiency or higher in the housing to minimize glare and flash on the trims. The result is a downlight solution that can be customized onsite in a matter of seconds while the fixture is illuminated. The product offers 0° - 40° tilt and 361° lockable rotation for no dead spots. The two-year project's $9 million cost will be paid for by MJ-808 in 20 years, he said.

Following a successful pilot installation of LED streetlights, the city of Dublin, Ohio, is planning for a full replacement of all 1,500 city streetlights with LED fixtures.
The pilot program included the installation and evaluation of fixtures manufactured by BetaLED, a division of Ruud Lighting/Cree of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and Kim Lighting of City of Industry, California. The LED fixtures were installed on Coffman Road during a three month trial period. Fixtures were evaluated for performance and input was solicited from citizens. According to city officials, citizen response was overwhelmingly positive.
"The pilot installation was very successful and allowed us to test a variety of fixtures in preparation of doing a large scale replacement project," said Jean-Ellen Willis, P.E., engineering manager-transportation for the city of Dublin, Ohio. All of the city's 1,500 existing streetlights are 250 watt high pressure sodium (HPS) and approximately 10 percent are decorative streetlights.
All are targeted for replacement beginning in 2012. "The city already replaced all of its traffic signals with LED technology, and we are now prepared to move forward with our streetlights," said Willis.

A Christmas tree whose 8,000 lights get their electricity from the kinetic energy of 15 bicycles has been lighted in the Mexican state of Puebla, officials said Sunday. The led light bulbs MJ-808 is a virtual copy of our favorite light last year, the ...
The tree is being showcased at the "Navidad Sustentable" (Sustainable Christmas) fair at a park in Puebla city, where visitors can pedal the 15 bicycles surrounding the Christmas tree, charging the batteries that provide electricity for the lights.
"Each bicycle has a generator attached to the rear tire that when it moves generates from 100 to 350 Watts,Exposure Lights make high performance cycling bike lights for cfl bulbs or road biking at night. charging the two batteries, which allow us to light the Christmas tree for 45 straight minutes," CocoLab representative Rudy Laddaga told Efe.
The bicycles must be pedaled at a speed of between 20 kph (12 mph) and 30 kph (19 mph) for about eight hours to charge the batteries so the tree's lights will stay on all night, Laddaga said.
The energy produced by people pedaling the 15 bicycles for eight hours is enough to light 60 rooms with 100-Watt bulbs, Laddaga said.
When 15 people pedal the bicycles simultaneously, the Christmas tree plays a song "that conveys the idea that together, if we agree, we can generate savings and benefits for the environment," Laddaga said.
The LED lights on the tree can remain on for about 4,000 hours, compared to 2,000 hours for conventional bulbs.
The city ushers in the holiday season Dec. 4 with the annual tree-lighting ceremony on the Circle and a visit from Santa Claus.
The festivities begin at 1 p.m. when St. Nick arrives at the Tallmadge Community Center on the Tallmadge Fire Department's ladder truck following a drive around the Circle. Santa's appearance is being sponsored by the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Executive Director Mary Cea said families should arrive at the Community Center around 12:50 p.m. if they want to see Santa's arrival.
He will be joined inside by Mrs. Claus where children are welcome to share their wishes and have their photos taken with the duo. A professional photographer will be available to take photos, but families are welcome to take their own photos as well.
Cea said craft tables, games and other activities will be available for children during Santa's visit. Refreshments will also be available, including cookies donated by Giant Eagle.
The Chamber will sponsor a raffle for holiday prizes, with all money collected benefiting Tallmadge Good Neighbors.
The top prize will be the decorated Christmas tree in the Community Center's foyer, which will be loaded with toys.
Cea said other prizes include gift baskets geared for young boys, young girls, a family-movie-night basket, a Delanie's Neighborhood Grille Ohio State University-themed basket, a Carol Martin Salon and Spa basket with gift cards and a Beef 'O' Brady's basket with gift cards.
Cea said raffle winners, who do not need to be present during the drawing, will be announced around 3:30 p.m.
