Disco 祭り Rehearsal For ９/10

Today`s Rehearsal was for an exciting event,coming this weekend. This Sunday is Philip and Hank night at Velfarre,in Roppongi! Of course,there will be eight DJ`s and another band"Osaka Monorail",but this is my opportunity to show my Disco roots!

Last year,Philip and Hank band(Featuring Brenda Vaughn,Jay Stixx,Cliff Archer,and of course Philip and Hank!)played at the first installment in this concert series at Liquid room in Ebisu. It was"A Tribute to Mugen Night",that famous funky club in Akasaka. That night,everyone just drank,and danced,and drank more,and danced more! How about some hardcore funky dance music? It was a super funky party time!!! We will be even more funky and cool this year!

Come and feel that 70`s dance feeling!

Blues Alley リハ

昨日の"La Cana"に来てくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました～！　おかげさまで盛り上がりましたね！　"下北沢La Cana"はPhilipのお友達のそのまたお友達のお店で、とってもAt Homeな雰囲気でした。　そしていつも思うんですが、下北沢のお客さんはノリが抜群です！　音楽に身を任せることが体に染み付いているみたいです。　Brendaが客席にマイクをむければ、自然とお客さんは大合唱！　Philipもイイ空気の中でリラックスしながらの演奏！　終始"一体感"を感じられる、あったかいLiveでした～☆

さてさて、本日は今週８日の"Blues Alley Japan"Liveのためのリハがありました。　Philipは当初考えていたSong Menuを練り直している模様です！　お楽しみに！

A Good Day!!!!!!!

Today`s rehearsal was soooooo good,I forgot to take a picture!
This rehearsal is for Brenda Vaughn`s live at Blues Alley,on September 19th.

These songs are great! I love Gospel music,and we will play some!Also,Mary J Blige,Chaka Khan,Kirk Franklin,Stephanie Mills(Alicia Keys),also Brenda`s original song,and another song that she recorded with Edwin Hawkins(composed and sang "O Happy Day")

Playing great music makes me happy. I hope you will come and see this live.

Lately ,We have a lot of live shows coming...But they are all different songs,played by the same great musicians.

My Birthday!!!!!

今日はフィリップの○回目の誕生日！
久保田利伸Excite Music Festival'06のリハーサルの後、なんとメンバーがサプライズパーティーを開いてくれました！
I had a surprise Birthday cake and champagne today at rehearsal.I got presents and cards,and a long birthday song from everybody(Stevie Wonder style)!

メンバー＆スタッフからのBirthday Card。スゴクあったかいVibeを感じますね！　ちなみにCardと一緒に入っていた50円は、フィリップの年にかけてるとか・・・。

　Everybody signed birthday cards.They teased me about turning 50 years old.Can you believe Im 50 already?(I dont)

　Philip曰く”マブダチ！”のRalphからのBirthday present。Coooool！

　Im so happy to be with nothing but cool people on tour.
Ralph gave me this shirt...he said he knew it was just right for me.What do you think?
