年賀状配達 元日は10年で４分の３に減少

全国各地で年賀状の配達が始まりました。郵便事業の発祥の地である東京・中央区の日本橋郵便局では、午前８時から野田総務大臣らが出席して配達出発式が行われました。
この中で日本郵政の長門正貢社長は、「相手を思う気持ちをしたためて年初にあいさつをする風習は、平安時代までさかのぼると言われます。“手書き離れ”が起きていますが、誇るべき日本の伝統文化を守っていきたい」とあいさつしました。
また、野田大臣は「全国２万４０００局の郵便局ネットワークは国民の生活インフラであり、今後も利用者の目線にたったサービスを提供してほしい」と述べました。
このあと、配達員がそれぞれの担当エリアに向けて配達に出発しました。
年賀はがきは、メールやＳＮＳ、さらには、スマートフォンを使ってメッセージを無料でやり取りできるアプリの普及で、減少が続いています。元日に配達される年賀状は１５億４３００万枚と去年よりおよそ６％少なく、この１０年で４分の３近くに減少しています。
年賀はがきの料金は値上げをせずに５２円で据え置かれましたが、今月８日以降に投かんすると、通常のはがきと同じ６２円になり、１０円分の切手を貼る必要があります。このため、日本郵政は、早めの投かんと注意を呼びかけています。
