アラン・パーソンズとエリック・ウルフソンが７０年代に結成したプロジェクト・グループで
高校生の頃よく聴いた「アラン・パーソンズ・プロジェクト」

８０年代後半には解散して、その後は其々ソロで活動していたそうだけど、アラン・パーソンズの
'95のソロ・ツアーの音源が上がっていたのでDLしてみた。


アラン・パーソンズ・プロジェクトってスティリー・ダンと同様、ライブを演らないグループ
として８０年代ぐらいは認知されていたのだけれど、９０年代入ったら事情は知らんけど両方とも
掌返した様にライブ活動していたのだね（笑）

スティリー・ダンは国立代々木競技場に観に行った事はあるのだが、アラン・パーソンズの生の
演奏は今日初めて聴いた。
もう２０年以上手持ちのレコードもＣＤも聴いていなかったので、新鮮な気持ちで楽しませて
もらったけれど、曲は８割以上は知っているものだったね。
音源はオーディエンス物ながら大変満足出来る音質。

中学生の頃によく聴いていたラジオ番組、湯川れい子さんがナビゲーション
していた「全米ＴＯＰ４０」
当時の土曜の夜、２２：００～２：００まで放送していたアメリカのナショナル・
チャートの１位～４０位までを紹介する番組。

洋楽がそれなりに日本でも人気あった懐かしい時代である。



そんな中でマンフレッド・マンズ・アース・バンドの「ブラインデッド・バイ・
ザ・ライト」が１位になった週があったのだけど、丁度その頃の彼等の音源が
上がっていたのでDLした。

これはレアな音源だね。このバンドのライブ演奏は聴くのも初めてだし、
一番聴きたい時期のものだけに自分にとっては「お宝」となった。

個人録音。所々歪みもあるけど中々楽しめた。
このツアーでの来日は無かったんだよね。
このアルバムが興行的に成功とは云えなかった部分もあったので「次作」の準備期間が
欲しかったのかは判らないけれど、ツアーも早めに終ったし何かこの年のポリスは活動
が地味だった印象がある。お陰で次作の「シンクロニシティ」は大ヒットだった訳だが。

昨夜のジョー・サトリアーニのクリーブランドの演奏をＤＬ。
オーディエンスもの。

先日のスペインのは音質イマイチだったが、今日のコレは素晴らしい！！
録音位置もステージ近くなのを想像させるクリアーな出来なのに加え、ジョーの演奏
自体もグレート！！演奏が締まっているし、ピッキングにも鬼気迫るものを感じる。
個人的なコレクションとしては、今回のツアーのマストアイテムになりそう。

今夜はジャクソン・ブラウンの'96のブート音源。

下にも記載ある通りアルバム「ルッキング・イースト」の販促ツアーから。
オーディエンス録音ながら音質はバツグン。所々変なノイズがあるけれど
タダで拾わせて頂いているのだから文句はあまり言えない。

このツアーはこのブートの約２ヶ月前に実際に観に行った。
それもピット席のステージから３列目で（笑）
当時、実際観に行って率直に感じたのは「デビッド・リンドレーに居て欲しかった」
という事。彼のスライド・ギターはジャクソンのステージには無くてはならないもの
だったから。

そしてこのブート聴いて感じた事は、最後は「ロード・アウト～ステイ」で終わって欲しかった
という事。10は中盤あたりで演奏しても良かったのでは？（無くても良いけど）観客の反応も
そんな風に聴こえるのだが・・・

忘れたけれどサンプラの時もこれと同じセットリストだったかなぁ。

昨夜はフリートウッド・マックの'77の音源をDL。

'77のマックと云えば、リンジー・バッキンガム、スティーヴィー・ニックスが新たに加入後、
「ファンタスティック・マック～Fleetwood Mac」に続く傑作、あの全米アルバム・チャート
31週連続１位を記録した「噂～Rumous」を発表して正に“飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢い”だった頃。
今思うに、バンドの長いキャリアに在って一番輝いていた頃だ。

音質はサウンドボードのため非常に良好。ただ、ＣＤ１枚に収める編集のためなのか曲間はキッチリ
とカットされている点にやや味気無さ（ＭＣなどは全てカット）を感じる。まあ、それでもこの時期
のマックのサウンドボード音源は非常に貴重なので、当時を思い出しながら十分楽しませてもらった。

これはポリスの1stアルバム「Outlandos d'Amour 」発表後のライブ音源。

一躍メジャー・バンドとなった2ndアルバム「Reggatta de Blanc」発表前の
演奏のサウンドボード音源という点で、とても貴重なものだと思う。
演奏は安定しているものの、やや荒さもあるしスティングの声の調子も余り
良くないように聴こえる。でも荒さ＝若々しさでもある訳だし、以後のポリス
の演奏では余り味わえないアンディ・サマーズの熱の入ったギターはちょっと
新鮮に感じられた。

何か最近のＵ２は巨大化し過ぎてロック・バンドなのか、成金趣味の単なるパフォーマー
なのかよく判らないんだけど。（私は'80年代は好きでした）
この間、この360°TourのDVD観ていてロックコンサートにこんな大規模なステージセットは
必要なのかなと正直疑問に感じてしまった。
訊くところによるとセットの１日当たりの維持費が約４千万円掛かるんだって！？
（組立、解体費用含まず）凄いねえ。それで興行収入を黒字に出来るんだとしたら（笑）

もうこのツアーも１年半位やっているけれど、日本に来る予定は今の所無いのかな。
まぁ日本にはこんな巨大な物持ってこれないでしょ？？興行ったとしても東京ドーム３～４回は
満員にする位でないと呼び屋、プロモーターも赤字だよね。恐らく。



・・・と、音楽に全く関係のないことばかり書いたけど、今更特にＵ2に関して書く事も
無いんだよね。ステージセットが替わるだけで演奏は何時も同じだし。

音源だが、音質は素晴らしい！会場のどの辺りで録ったのかはメモには詳細無いのだが、臨場感
もあるし、歓声も適度に入っていて、勿論演奏自体も良いよ（笑）

Elton John & Billy Joel～Face 2 Face

'94年にスタートしたエルトン・ジョンとビリー・ジョエルのジョイント・ツアー「Face 2 Face」
その４年後の'98年には日本でも４つのドームで開催された。うち東京ドームでの公演は実際に観に行ったのだ
が、正直内容は忘れてしまったよ（汗）目まぐるしく２人が入れ替わり歌っていたような記憶があるだけだね。


これは今年アメリカで再演された「Face 2 Face 2010 US Tour」の２月２２日デンバーでのもの。
そのデンバー公演はブートでも出ているが、これは個人テーパーさんによる音源。
音は非常に良い。（最後の方は電池の容量少なくなってきたのか、かなりヨレヨレだけどｗ）
だから長丁場だけど最後まで何とか楽しめた。

２月２７日カンザスシティのものも一緒にＤＬしたんだけど、恐らくこれと大差無いと思うので感想は
割愛するｗ（現時点ではまだ聴いていないから判らんけど）

ジョー・サトリアーニの１１月１８日、スペインはマドリードの音源をＤＬ。
これはブートじゃなく個人テーパーさんに依るもの。


サトリアーニって好きなギタリストの一人なんだが、何故か持っているアルバム
は「Timemachine」と「G3」（スティーヴ・ヴァイがいるヤツ）のライブの２枚だけ。ライブも未体験。
縁が無いんだよねえ、何故かこの人とは（笑）だから今夜は彼の最新の演奏が聴けて嬉しい。

内容はというと・・・相変わらず弾いていますね！テクニカルに、さりげなく。
音質は、まあまあ。

この人、日本でファンに知られるようになったのは’８７のミック・ジャガー
の初来日時にバック・ミュージシャンとして帯同した時からだよね。それは俺も覚えてる。
当時、「ミックのバックのギターはバカテク！」って評判になっていた。

The Sala La Riviera in Madrid has a terrible acoustic, as is a disco with a roof
that can be opened in the summer, with palms inside etc etc, depending on your luck,
you wonエt be able to see anything. My only chance was to go at the back
(not a very big venue) and enjoy the show from the stairs with a very good view,
but the acoustic was not very good. Good enough to the listener, but too loud. Also
the security was very tight, as it was a disco, laws applied very different to this
kind of venues (many under 16 boys were not allowed to attend the show, no matter
if they had tickets...) so I have to hide my recorder in my pocket, with the mic
outside of it (the rest of the recored remained hidden in my pocket).

The sound is not so good as in my previous recordings by that reasons, but I hope you
enjoy it any way, It was not easy to record this show!!!
