CELTIC star Shunsuke Nakamura was fined by police for using his mobile phone while driving.
Officers stopped the Japanese midfielder in Torrance, Dunbartonshire, near the club's Lennoxtown training ground.
The footballer was issued with a fixed penalty notice following the incident yesterday afternoon.
A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a 30-year-old man was issued with a fixed penalty notice earlier today in Torrance following an alleged road traffic offence."
Motorists caught using their mobile phones while driving face a £60 fine and three penalty points on their licence under new laws introduced in February.
