Blistering summer weather in August is set to come to an end with thunderstorms across the country from Tuesday.

この8月は、太陽の光で水膨れを起こしそうな天候の夏でしたが、それも、この火曜日から国中での激しい雷雨によって終わりを迎えるようです。

Monday is likely to be the last day with sunshine and high temperatures, meteorology agency DMI said on Monday.

“If you like barbecuing and sunbathing in the garden, do it today,” Dan Nilsvall, a meteorologist with the agency, said.

Conditions of 25-30 degrees Celsius, sunshine and little to no breeze on Monday are set to check out with cloud cover in the west from the evening, after which the weather will take a less stable and cooler form.

Tuesday will see rain and thunder outbreaks across the country, although the hot weather will hold out a little longer in the east.

“There may well be some heavy showers. But the rain will be unevenly distributed and some places will get a lot more than others,” Nilsvall said.

Wednesday will see the temperature drop to 20-25 degrees during the day and 12-18 degrees at night.

Rain is expected every day until Friday in most parts of the country. The weekend will see a further drop, possibly under 20 degrees, as well as increasing wind.

Meteorologist Nilsvall said he did not consider the summer weather gone for this year despite the expected change.

“This is certainly the end of a long and good period. But it’s not the end of summer yet,” he said.

“We still have 14 days left in August. And September also usually has some days with very fine weather, so we shouldn’t say goodbye to the sun yet,” he added.

冬が長い北欧では、短い夏を精一杯楽しもうとする考えが浸透しています。なので、幾らかの異常気象気味で暑い夏になったとしても、それを受け入れているようなニュアンスに受け止めました。しかし、彼らは問題意識の高い人たちなので、スウェーデンのグレタのように、地球温暖化・気候変動に関しても忘れていることはあり得ません。

ところで、写真のウッドデッキのような施設の場所を確認しました。名称はKalvebod Wavesと言います。場所はコペンハーゲン中央駅の南東に位置したコペンハーゲン港（運河）にあります。２００８年建設と説明されています。同施設を紹介しているサイトはこちら。

　　　　　　　　

デンマークを訪れる機会があれば、首都コペンハーゲンのこうした場所も散策等してみたいものですね。他にも、たくさん訪れてみたいところがありますが・・・。（２０１２年にいくつかは訪問しています。）
