昨日エントリーしたUaktiのÁguas de Março（3月の水）は多くのミュージシャンが取り上げていて多種多様なアレンジが楽しめる名曲だ。とりわけElis Reginaが作曲者のAntonio Carlos Jobimとデュエットで歌った1974年の作品がこの曲の素晴らしさを存分に伝えてくれる。
このÁguas de Marçoで始まるアルバム"Elis & Tom"はTristeやCorcovadoなどボサ・ノヴァを代表する曲がエリスの歌声で堪能できる傑作だ。
私はこのアルバムのラストに準備されているバラードInútil Paisagemが好きだ。
直訳すると「無意味な風景」と名づけられたこの曲は、アロイージオ・ヂ・オリヴェイラ（ボサ・ノヴァ・ムーヴメントの初期に上質なボサノヴァ作品を数多くリリースしたレコードレーベル「エレンコ」の創立者）の詩にAntonio Carlos Jobimが曲をつけたとされている。この曲はJobim本人は勿論、Wanda SáやCaetano Veloso、アメリカだとMorgana KingやElla Fitzgerald など様々なアーティストが取り上げている。私はポルトガル語に精通していないので、Frank Sinatraが英語でカバーした時の歌詞を紹介する。
