チェンマイから車を飛ばして3時間。黄金の三角地帯はメコン川を挟んでタイ・ラオス・ミヤンマーが国境を接する所。かつては麻薬の量産地として悪名をはせていましたが、現在は中国、ベトナムを含めた5国間の交易の要所。この地はもともとアカ族の地ですが、ミヤンマー難民の首長族が100人余り山間の谷に隠れ住んでいます。

We drove fast for 3 hours from Chiang Mai. The Golden Triangle is located on the border between Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar separated by the Mekong River. Although in the old days it was an infamous area as the drug mass productive district, nowadays it is the important point of international transportation among 5 countries including China and Vietnam. This area originally belongs to Aka tribe but around 100 of long neck tribe people are secretly living in the valleys between mountains.
