ケアンズには観光客向けの各種動物園が10箇所以上。ワニ園や有毒動物園なんていうのもあります。入場料はどこも$30（2000円）前後ですが地元民には割引料金が適用されます。1年間有効のパスもあり頻繁に友達や親戚が訪ねてくる人は結構重宝しているようです。コアラ園のパスを持っている友人がいますが僕は「蝶の楽園」のパス。年間パスは1人￥$17（1100円）。気分が落ち込んだ時にはここで30匹のユリシスを見ればいっぺんで幸せになれると考えたから。だけどなかなか気分が落ち込んでくれない。

Commuting pass for happiness

There are more than 10 different varieties of zoos for tourists in Cairns. Some of them are strange such as the crocodile zoo or the venom zoo. The entrance fees at most zoos are about $30 and there is some discount for the local people. There are also the entrance passes that are pretty convenient for the people who are frequently visited by their friends or relatives. One of my friends has a pass to Koala Zoo and I, to Butterfly Sanctuary. This yearly pass is $17 per person. I thought I could become immediately happy by seeing 30 Ulysseses when I feel depressed. But it’s quite more difficult for me to feel depressed than I thought.
