水陸両用車

ケアンズの熱帯雨林動物園ではアーミーダックと呼ばれる水陸両用車でジャングル探検ができます。車両は第2次世界大戦で米軍が実戦に使用したもの。最新の無公害エンジンを使用しているそうですが、車両本体は60年以上前の代物。安全ベルトも救命胴衣もないのに、急斜面を登ったり、深い沼を渡ったり、結構はらはらさせられます。

You can go exploring the jungles by the amphibian car called army duck in Cairns Tropical Rainforest Zoo. The vehicles were used in actual fighting in the Second World War by US army. The engines were changed to modern pollution free ones but its body is older than 60 years old. It went up the steep slope and crossed deep pond in great suspense without wearing any safety belts or life jackets.
