記録的豪雨で堤防が決壊した鬼怒川。茨城県常総市では、多くの家が濁流に飲み込まれたが、流れに負けずに残る白い家が注目を集めた。その家自体が残っているだけでなく、流れてきた2軒の家を食い止め、屋根に残る人々と犬2匹の命も救ったためだ。
