The area around Seikibashi tram stop in Okayama has a historical background that includes an execution ground during the Okayama Domain era, and the Okayama Prison during the Showa period. Along the Asahi River, there were once rows of shanties. Upstream along the Asahi River, there was a red-light district, while on the opposite bank, there was a slaughterhouse and a funeral hall. This history contributes to the perception of the area as having security concerns.
