Shogi Trip in Germany (Heidelberg) 1

Heidelberg is a historical city in South-West of Germany and it is attractive for sightseer. Here live Frank Roevekamp of FESA and his wife Misako Iijima. I visited their home. Everyday, Frank commutes from here to the university in Ludwigshafen.

At noon, Frank welcomed me at Heidelberg Central Station and we went to his home.
Afterwards, I spent time as follows;
Welcome chattering : one hour and a half
Lunch : one hour
Sightseeing : one hour and a half
Playing Shogi : two hours
Meeting : two hours and a half, and
Dinner : two hours.

例会後、モニカさん夫妻と子供たち（左手前から３人）、子供たちとその両親（奥の４人）、独日協会理事のペーター・バウアーさん（右手前から２人目）などと市内のレストランで夕食を共にした。

一日を通して感じたのは、モニカさんの類まれなる組織者としての資質だった。それがなければ、将棋クラブの盛り上がりもないということがよくわかった。

After the meeting, I enjoyed dinner with Monika and her husband and her sons(left), children and their parents(back) and Peter Bauer of Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft Karlruhe e.V.(right).
Throughout the day, I was astonished at Monika’s talent as an organizer. That would be the key for encouraging the Shogi Club.

（12）㈱ねこまど発売の「初心者向け将棋駒」（駒の動ける方向を刻み込んだ駒。㈱ねこまどのショップに掲載されていないのは、なぜだろう？）・・・以上、私からのプレゼント。
