私は、アンドレアス（写真）という中学生とモニカさんの息子のマークスの二人と対局した。二人とも立派な級位者で、序盤に難があるものの、所々でハッとするような手を指す。マークスについてモニカさんに伝えたのは、「時間の使い方にムラがある。普段から、例えば、一人３０分で指す訓練をすれば、考えるべき箇所で考え、当然の一手の箇所では考えないで指すことができるのではないか。」ということ。(2014-01-18)

I played with Andreas (Photo), middle school child, and Markus, the son of Monika. Both two players were qualified as grade players. They were difficult at the beginning stage but they sometimes moved unexpectedly good move. As for Markus, I told Monika “ He has a difficulty to use time. If he trains himself to play with 30 minuite thinking time, for example, then he will learn that in which part he should use time and in which part he should follow Joseki without using time”. この日は、ある子供の父親（左奥の立っている人。モニカさんはその前に座っている。）にモニカさんが指導をしていた。何でも、チェスの好きな人で、子供にチェスを教えようとしたら、将棋の方が面白いといって子供がクラブに通うようになり、この日初めて、父親も将棋に触ったそうだ。駒は、㈱ねこまどの発売している「国際将棋駒」で、チェスの駒に似せた絵柄が描かれているもの。父親がチェス通だというので、モニカさんが気を利かせていたのだ。(2014-01-16)

Monika instructed the father of a kid. ( The father standing on the left back and Monika sitting in his front) The father was chess fan and he tried to instruct chess to his kid. But the kid preferred Shogi to chess and the kid joined the club. This day, the accompanying father appeared in the club and , for the first time, he touched the Shogi pieces. The Shogi pieces there were ‘International Shogi Pieces’ published by Nekomado with illustrations resembling chess pieces. Thinking about his chess fan, Monika used her brains.

ドイツ将棋の旅(カールスルーエ編) 1

日時：２０１３年３月２６日（火）１７時００分－２２時１５分

カールスルーエはドイツ西南部の中都市で、連邦最高裁判所が置かれていることで知られている。ここにある「カールスルーエ将棋クラブ」を訪ねた。

主宰のモニカ・ファフ Monika Pfaff さんにカールスルーエ中央駅に出迎えてもらい、会場となる施設に向かった。

「カールスルーエ将棋クラブ」は月２回、火曜日の夕方に例会を開いている。この日は私が訪ねるというので、特別に例会を増設していただいた。参加者は１６名ほど。普段より多いという。５、６歳の子供、小学生、中学生、高校生、社会人、子供たちの付添いの親、ろうあ者のドイツ人と日本人と、バラエティ豊かな顔ぶれだ。これを見ても、主宰のモニカさんの組織者としての力量が覗える。(2014-01-14)
