I would like to write my favorite Poem by Dorothy Law Nolte titled "Children Learn What They Live"
If a child lives with criticism, He learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, He learns o fight.
If a child lives with ridicule. He learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, He learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, He learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, He learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, He learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, He leaarns justice.
If a child lives with security, He learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, He learns to like himsself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, He learns to find love in the world.
私は、３行目からが好きです。
２行目のhostilityは、敵意とか反感です。そんな中で育ったら、人に敵意を持ちケンカや争い、そして戦争まで引き起こしてしまいます。
１行目のcondemnは、～を責める、非難するという意味です。
３行目のridiculeは、嘲笑、あざけり、あざわらい、ひやかしの意味です。
最後の行にあるように、受容され愛され、友情の中で育ったならば、世界に愛を見つけ平和な未来が実現し、ジョン. レノンが言ったように、世界は一つになると信じています。
←これは、ロータリーフェローのパーティー。真中が私。私の右の女性は、親友のスーザン。 スイスのチューリッヒの近くの中世のような素敵な街、St. Gallenに優しいお連れ合いのハンスと３人の子供と住んでいます。右端は、フランス人の研究者。私の左はドイツ人の音楽家、右端は、お名前は、恥ずかしい事に度忘れしましたが、帰国後結婚して双子ちゃんを産み、上智大学でも教えていました。私より７歳位年上で、とても優秀な方でした。名前、思い出したら、後日書きます。
下の写真の右端が私、その右が母。一番右は広島の祖父です。
この原爆ドーム・・・戦争や、原子力の悲惨さをいつまでも、風化させず、平和な地球を願います。
