「プロビデンスの目」 → "Eyes of Providence"


プロビデンスの目（プロビデンスのめ、英: → Eyes(one of Providence British:)of Providence EyeofProvidence）とは、目を描いた意匠。 → Thedesign thatIdescribed eyes in with Eye of Providence).

プロビデンスはキリスト教の摂理という意味で、神の全能の目（英: → Inameaning calledtheprovidence Christian in Providence almighty eyes(British:)of God all-seeingeyeofGod）を意味する。 → Imean all-seeing eye of God).

光背や、三位一体の象徴である三角形としばしば組み合わせて用いられる。 → It is often used in combination withthetriangle that isasymbol ofanimbus andtheTrinity.

ただし、プロビデンスの目自体のデザインは古くから教会建築などに用いられる一般的な紋章であり、国章選定の当時はフリーメーソンとの関連があるとは見られていなかった。 → Butthedesign of eyes in itself of Providence isageneral crest used for church architecture for a long time;at the time of one ofthenational emblem choice withtheFreemason was not seen to be related.
