Tokyo Disneyland

One of my favorite places to be!! 
The students had a choice to go to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disney Sea.

Today we chose Tokyo Disneyland to see all the Christmas decorations!!!

As we were walking around the park we met up with many students and 
staff from our school.

Yamano Beauty College-Student Trip

The first year students enjoyed a one night stay at the Tokyo Bay Grande
Sheraton Hotel. We start the program off with a lecture.


About 800 students and teachers filled the ballroom.

Our guest speaker was Arthur Holland

After a break, we gathered again for dinner.  Here I am telling the students that I trust
them.  I hope they will act accordingly (good manners, keep the noise level down and
respect and take care of the property  better than if it was their own home!) which is 
how they will be expected to behave in their future where ever they decide to work.


Dinner was also a learning experience!  Learning to sit down from the right of the
chair, using the napkin, table conversation, what forks and knives to use and when,
how to show the waiter that you are finished and even how to get around the bones
on the fish dish!!　They were served by about 100waiters a full sit down meal as we 
learned table manners.

I don't eat fish, but I enjoyed taking the bone out!!!  (so well, if I do say so myself!!)

After watching a fashion show in Ebisu we dropped by Jinryoku for dinner!

6th Wedding Anniversary at Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Tokyo.
We were greeted by Akiko-san and her warm and aloha spirit!!
            

We had lunch and K'Shiki and was surprised by this dessert plate!!

Another delicious surprise awaited us from our very good friends!!

We had dinner at Sense, enjoyed Chinese cuisine and  saw some 
fireworks in the distance from Disneyland!
Nice to see a familiar smile! 
 Thank you to Ishikawa-san and your staff for making us
feel so welcome and for the great service and delicious dinner!

We really enjoyed our specially made non-alcoholic drinks and cookies!! 
  Thank you very much!!

I enjoyed a special massage and facial at the spa and want to thank Akiko-san,
Kirsty-san and her staff for making it a wonderful experience!!
Can't wait to go back!

YBC 山野美容専門学校 国内研修旅行

今年も国内研修旅行は東京ディズニーリゾートで行いました。

この機会に学生は一流のホテルで特別講演を聴き、テーブルマナーの指導を受け一泊し次
の日はディズニーランド・ディズニーシーでエンターテイメントの様々な形を体験・見学します。

私はいつも学生にOnly Oneの美容師になってほしいと願っています。
今日の特別講演をして下さるゲストも、その意味で熱い思いを語るOnly One牧師!
アーサーホーランド氏の講話から「皆様には今何が求められているのか、Only One
になるためにどう自分を見出して行けば良いか」を学び、これから国家試験や厳しい
学習に立ち向かっていく勇気を受け取って欲しいと思っています。

理事長からは、「皆様全員のレポートを責任を持って読破し、優秀なレポートを
提出した10名にはリムジンで東京見学にお連れし、ディナーにご招待したいと
思っています」というご褒美までつきました!

アーサーホーランド牧師は御自身5人の子供の父親で、若い人達にハートを
伝える為に年間400回もの講演を行っています。

特別講演の中で
「Spiritを言葉にしろ！」「ハングリーになってさらに高い自分を求めろ」
「心を開いて人の心の声を聞け」「自分を解き放て」
「自分の中の可能性を表現しろ」と独特な語り口で話し、
美の原点は自然界にある。美容師は心の伝道師。美容を通して
お客様の心に語りかけ、お客様の気持ちに新しいエネルギーを与え、
励ましていることに気づいて欲しいと熱いメッセージを伝えて下さいました。

美容界で活躍する卒業生と・・・

今回は特別に卒業して数年の若い美容師の方々と美容師２代目として
活躍する堀部真生さん・飯塚拓さんをお迎えして座談会が持たれ卒業生
また、先輩美容師としてとして山野の学生や山野学苑に期待すること等を
話して頂きました。


卒業してから数年で有名サロンで活躍する卒業生は、学生の時には気が
つかなかった、大切だと思っていなかったことが実際にサロンに出てとても
重要なことだと実感することが多く、改めて学生の時の教科書を引っ張り
出したり、「美道五大原則」Total Beautyを心に描きながらお客様と接している。
と話して下さいました。


また、親子2代で美容界を支え、山野を卒業された堀部真生さんと飯塚拓さんからは
山野の伝統である厳しい指導、そしてうまく出来たときには褒めるという教育、また
美容界のアイコンであり続け、卒業生が帰ることのできる場所であり続けて欲しい
という希望と、新しい校舎と良い環境の中で育つ学生達の将来に対しての期待を
語って頂きました。

私たちからも、新校舎の概要について説明し、在学生だけではなく、卒業生にも
利用して頂き、新しい技術の発表の舞台、情報交換の場として大いに利用して
欲しいと伝え、山野の学生には入学した時点から学校を職場だと考えて頂き、
技術はもちろん、マナーをベースとした人間教育に一層力を注ぎ、高校生と
サロンワークをする社会人とのギャップを少しでも少なくできるように努力して
いくことを伝え、とても有意義な意見交換の場となりました。
