I love being with this group!  They are such wonderful and 
receptive audience.

I have the greatest time being with everyone as many of them have 
known me for a very long time, since the days of me going around with 
my grandmother Aiko Yamano. This year we have many newcomers and 
I'm so happy to see new faces and hope that they will continue to come!!

First I talked about the new brushes, face lift kit,  application 
and usage of the things on my cart.

Then we began the demonstration.

I demonstrated the use of various brushes to apply foundation 
primer and foundation.

Finishing off with the hair style.

Summer Symposium First Day サマーシンポジウム ①

Summer Symposium 2007!  We have kimono teachers from all over Japan and
one of our teachers flew in from Las Vegas to participate in this year's symposium.

We saw many teachers that attend each year and many first timers as well.

I really enjoy talking to the teachers.

Each year I'm always so amazed and proud of how our teachers take 
time out of their busy schedule (in this extremly HOT weather) to 
come to  Tokyo for 3 days to study.

About 140 teachers from Hokkaido to Okinawa and also Las Vegas are 
here today to continue their education.
　

サマーシンポジウム

国際美容協会の主催で山野流着装の先生方を対象に毎年行っている
サマーシンポジウムがいよいよ来週末行われます。

もともと夏期大学というタイトルで始まった夏休み特別きもの講習会ですが、
毎年さまざまな趣向を凝らしていかに有効な勉強会ができるか、どうしたら
皆が喜んでくれるかを考えています。
今年も新しいメイクや着付けの技、デモンストレーションなど
多彩な内容で楽しく勉強したいと思っています。


また、普段ゆっくりお会いできない方たちや遠方からおいでになる先生方と
会うことができるこの機会をいつもとても楽しみにしています。


蒸し暑い毎日ですが、皆様体調に気をつけて、
お会いできるのを楽しみにしています!!

山野美容芸術短期大学では国際交流を推進しており、海外からの
お客様にはお着物を着て愛治庵でお茶を楽しんで頂けるようにしています。

世界で活躍する山野流着装講師

私が宗家を務める山野流着装は全国で約15,000人の会員を誇り、海外でも
活躍している方々がおります。今回は、ロンドン在住の廣岡陽子さんから
ご活躍の様子をお知らせ頂いたのでご紹介させて頂きます。

これは昨年12月、山野の海外研修旅行でロンドンを訪れたときに撮ったものです。


廣岡陽子さんからのメッセージ
2006年1月25日、ロンドンの日本大使公邸にて在英国防衛駐在官夫人の
水間弘美さんが、日本の美しい着物とイギリスで大人気の和食を紹介する
パーティーを開催し、各国武官夫人約70人をご招待しました。
このパーティーにて、私は着物着付けのデモンストレーションの役割を
務めさせていただきました。

今回のデモンストレーションでは、エストニア国防武官夫人にモデルをお願いしました。
小紋に細帯を着付けする際、肌着・補正・長襦袢等と何重に重ね着することに感心されて
いました。着物の着心地が意外と楽だったことにも驚かれていたようで、パーティーの
終わりまで疲れずに着ていただきました。

外国の方々に着物着付けを紹介するにあたって、相手の立場からみて分かり
やすいように、着物を日本の伝統美の一つとして説明するよう心がけました。
着付けの手順と役割や着物と帯の素材や格に関することから、着物の歴史や
現在トレンドまで、外国では常に幅広い質問を受けることが多いため、
事前勉強も怠りませんでした。
私は年齢に不相応を認めつつも、着物の種類や違いを紹介するために振袖を着ました！

着物という美しい日本の伝統文化を通して、日本の素晴らしさをたくさんの国の方々に
紹介することができたことを大変光栄に思います。
山野愛子ジェーン宗家を始め、先輩の先生の皆様には心より感謝しております。

スタインご夫妻 日本文化を体験! The Stein's in Kimono!

食事の後は、日本文化を象徴するきものを着て現在BSフジの番組「J-ART」での撮影舞台とも
なっているお茶室≪愛治庵≫へご案内し、「茶道」を体験して頂きました。

初めてのきものだったと言うことでしたが、モリース氏は羽織袴を大変気に入って
毎日着付けて欲しいと言うほどでした!　
きものは日本を代表する大切な文化です。外国の方にも機会あるごとに紹介し、
楽しんで頂いて日本の伝統に触れて頂きたいと思っています。

沖縄 嶺岡先生の思い出

We flew to Okinawa very suddenly to attend the funeral of Mineoka- sensei.
週末は嶺岡先生の訃報を聞いて急遽沖縄へ飛ぶ事になりました。

She was dedicated to Yamano Ryu and was kind to many, many people.
嶺岡先生は献身的に山野流着装につくしてこられた先生で、とてもとても優しい方でした。

Stan and I just love Okinawa as we have many fond memories
here and each time Mineoka-sensei was a part of them. 
(Stan proposed to me in Okinawa in June 2000) 
沖縄は私とスタンにとってとても思い出深く大好きな場所ですが、
嶺岡先生はいつもその思い出一部として心の中に残っています。
(沖縄はスタンが2000年6月にプロポーズをしてくれた地でもあります)

Mineoka-sensei helped me with my special seminars, calendar photo shoots
and when I came to dive, she always came to visit me at the hotel. 
Sometimes with salt for me to take diving for my safety. 
嶺岡先生には、沖縄での特別講演やカレンダー撮影をお手伝い下さったことを良く
覚えています。また、私がダイビングに沖縄へ行ったときには必ずホテルに会いに来て
下さり、ダイビング中事故などがないように、とお清めの塩を持たせてくれたりしました。

She will be missed greatly.
先生がお亡くなりになったことは本当に残念で、寂しいです。

大阪 OSAKA 着物着付師資格認定証 授与式

It's been a plane, trains and automobile month for us. 
今月は飛行機、電車、車でスケジュールからスケジュールに移動する毎日でした。
We are on our final trip for the Shinnenkai (New Year's Party) Tour 2006!
今日は、今年出席できる最後の着物着付師資格認定証授与式(伝達式)の旅に出ます!
　
It's off to Osaka!!  目的地は大阪です。

2時間半の新幹線の席に落ち着いているスタンです。

This is a foot measuring device that will make the perfect fit tabi 
(two toed sock) for my foot.   We will see.
この機械で足型を取って自分にぴったりの足袋を片方づつ用意して頂けます。
オーダーメイドもできるのでどんな履き心地になるか楽しみです。

It is a special day as it is unusual for both of us to be at the same event.
私の父である理事長も出席しました!　多忙を極める理事長と私が同じ会に
同席するのはまれな事なので、さらに特別な日になりました。

you very much for the beautiful flowers!

出張続きで間が空いてしまったのですが、改めて熊本での着物着付師免状授与式の事を
