Europe’s electric car sale fall sharply

I read the interesting article about Electric car this morning.

Europe’s electric car sales appear to be entering a go-slow zone after years of accelerating.

Fully-electric sales in Europe were up 47% in the first nine months of 2023.
But automakers including Tesla, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz don’t seem optimistic.

They warn hight interest rates and a lackluster market. They think drivers wait for better, cheaper models.

Some experts say,
people considering upgrading to an EV are put off by a lack of charging infrastructure, battery life fears and price.
Another experts say,
demand will remain slow for as long as there are no cheaper EV available.

While reading this article, I remembered that there is an argument that EV are not certainty good for the environment.
Various issues are pointed out by experts, for example...
CO2 is generated in the process of making electricity for EV driving.
Battery disposal causes environmental problems.

European drivers may have noticed these issues as well.

I guess,
EV is not yet widespread in Japan, but that's not a bad thing.
National and some local governments have already provided various EV subsidies.
But  those subsidies should be carefully considered.
