走鳥類は大きな順に、ダチョウ、エミュー、ヒクイドリ、レア。エミューとヒクイドリは豪州固有動物。ダチョウは農園から逃げて野生化して増加中。エミューは体高2ｍ、体重60kg。鳴き声は雄がギーッ、雌がボンボンとドラムのような声。雑食性で昆虫、種子、果実、下草を食べます。農地を荒らす害鳥として駆逐され、絶滅の危機に。肉は美味な赤肉で養殖されています。産卵数は10－30個。抱卵は雄が2ヶ月間飲まず食わずで頑張ります。

Cursorial birds are ostriches, emus, cassowaries and rheas if listed in order of the size from big to small. Emus and cassowaries are Australian indigenous animals. Ostriches are raising their number after escaping from their farms. An emu is 2m tall weight 60kg. Its male says “chirk”, and female “bong bong” just like a drum. They are omnivorous and eat insects, seeds, fruit and grass. They were killed as the pests that eat harvest and went in danger of extinction. As they have tasty red meat they are bred in farms. They lay 10-30 eggs. The male incubate for 2 months without eating or drinking.
