SAMURAI's spirit

It was a accident at the end of the Edo era.

The Satsuma clan's samurai caught sinners of the clan in the town of Edo. 
But senior samurai of other clan blamed them because the samurai's
treatment was too violent.  The Samurai of Satsuma went back to their 
site house of Edo because the mission was rejected.   

However, the Senior Samurai heard from other person the result that the
samurai who caught sinners had done the SEPPUKU by order due to the
crime of abandoning the criminal.

We could imagine how hard heartache when Samurai heard that result.

That incident happened at least two hundred years ago.  Currently now, even
if many innocent people are killed, they can not be punished without trial.
That is the change of the times.

However, it seems that the Japanese sports world is still doing the bad
manner under the feudalistic system.

I had been beaten at baseball club activities or even hit by school physical
education time.　But that is a half century ago. If it still remains in universities
and others, we have to wait for the coming the 22nd century, otherwise there
is no other hand that the violence will disappear from Japanese sports.

However, I don’t want to forget that the samurai had ”we have to know shame”
as a Japanese.

江戸も末期、幕末のことである。薩摩藩の侍が江戸の町で藩の罪人を捕らえた時のことである。
あまりに侍の仕打ちが乱暴であったため、見かねた他藩の上級侍が咎めたらしい。お陰で咎人
は開放され、薩摩の侍は江戸の屋敷へ戻った。だが上級侍が人伝に聞いた話では、咎人を捕え
ながら放置した罪で件の侍は切腹になったという。上級侍の困惑は大きかったと想像できる。

その出来事は、たかだか二百年前のことである。時代は代わり、今は罪のない人を多数殺して
も、裁判を経なければ処罰されない。それこそ時代の変化である。

しかし、こと日本のスポーツ界は、いまだ前近代的なスキームが蔓延っているらしい。私も、
野球のクラブ活動で殴られたり、学校の体育の時間でさえ叩かれたことがある。だがそれは、
もはや半世紀も前のこと。それが今も大学などで残っているとなると、日本のスポーツから
暴力がなくなるのは、きっと２２世紀の到来を待つしか、他に手がないのかもしれない。

だが、侍の持っていた”恥を知る”ということは、日本人として忘れたくない。

Typhoon 21 passed straight over the head!

At 2 pm this afternoon the town where the unbeleiveble wind was blown
all the while suddenly became quiet and the sky became bright a little if noticed.

Looking at the inter net, it was time just typhoon landed in Kobe.   The eyes of the
typhoon, which was as round and clear as the eyes of a wolf,  was changed to thin
from the Shikoku landing.   But still the storm accompanying the eyes was intense.

One day when I was a child, I waited for the typhoon to go too far, and when I
realized, the surroundings became quiet. I steal my parent's eyes and jumped out.
And then I found a round blue sky just at right above.

It was the eyes of the typhoon.   A deep and round blue sky appeared in the stagnant
sky, as if it was seeing a swinging pupil.   It seemed as if a vampire saw his weak
point by someone and seemed to be puzzled.

However, after the typhoon had gone, the roof of the house flew, the water over-
flowed to the floor, and the town was immersed in the mud until a week later.
About 60 years since then.   Typhoon damage has not gone away still now on.

I will pray for no damage by this typhoon as little as possible.
