日本の「化石ワニのプリンセス」マチカネワニの仲間は台湾にもいた。

同国で見つかった更新世のワニ化石をマチカネワニと同属のトヨタマヒメイア・タイワニクス Tomistoma taiwanicus のものとして記載しています。

マチカネワニのきた道を知る上で重要な発見です。
