Participation in the ESC in Belarus 2

(Beautiful city, Minsk) The championship was held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus Republic. I could not imagine the city of Russian region, but I was astonished when I entered the city. Flower gardens with various shapes and green belts were located on the promenades along the boulevards. To my astonishment, there was no dust on these roads.
I was impressed by the beautiful city, Minsk.

ESCベラルーシ大会に参加して 1

［はじめに］“定年になったら海外で将棋を指してみたい”と思い続けていた私は、「将棋を世界に広める会」を知って夢の実現に期待を膨らませて入会した。
会誌「かけはし」でウクライナやフランス大会の記事から、日本の伝統文化である「将棋」をこれほど多くのヨーロッパの人達が楽しんでいることを知り感激した。そして、一昨年のドイツ大会に初めて参加して以来、その感動が忘れられずその後毎年メンバーに加えて頂いている。今回は昨年のポーランド大会に続いて三回目のヨーロッパ将棋旅行となったが、この感動を皆様にお伝えし、多くの方にご参加いただきたいと思っている。

Participation in the ESC in Belarus 1

(Preface) I had been dreaming of playing Shogi in foreign countries when I would retire. My dream came true when I found ISPS and I joined ISPS.
I was deeply impressed by the articles in the “Kakehashi” of ISPS stating the championships in Ukraine and France when I found in the articles that many European Shogi players are enjoying Shogi, one of the Japanese traditional cultures. And, I participated in the championship in Germany in the year before the last year. Since then, I have joined the championships every year. This is the third Shogi trip in Europe following the last trip to Poland. I would like to convey my impression to the readers and I hope that many of the readers plan to participate in the championship. (Mitsuru Niizeki 2014-02-24)

［棋書配布］
ISPSから供出を受けた「将棋世界」などの付録100冊、MIRさん（ドイツ将棋連盟）の購入した「将棋を孫に伝える会」発行の「解けてうれしい詰将棋」100冊、日本将棋連盟から寄贈を受けたトニー・ホスキン『クラシック将棋』2冊、カレンダー2冊を日本から携行して、ヨーロッパ将棋連盟にまるごと寄託した。
これらの棋書は、大会参加者およびヨーロッパ将棋連盟傘下の各国に渡された。詳しくは、MIRさんの報告が後日あるので、そちらを参照されたい。

［次回］
2014年のヨーロッパ将棋選手権は、ハンガリーのブダペストで7月に開催されるが、日程は未定。

Report of ESC2013 7

(Handing out of Shogi booklets)

I carried to the venue of the championship following books and booklets and deposited them to FESA;
(a) 100 booklets (gifts by ISPS)
(b) 100 booklets named “Tokete Ureshii Tsume-Shogi” by “Shogi wo Mago ni Tsutaeru Kai”(purchased by MIR of German Shogi Association)
(c) 2 volumes of Tony Hosking “Classic Shogi” (gifts by JSA)
(d) 2 calendars (gifts by JSA).
These books and booklets were handed out by FESA at the venue to the attendants of the championships and several Shogi associations. Details will be followed by MIR.

ESC2014 will be held in Budapest, Hungary. The dates are not announced yet.
