New Year's party

There was a New Year's party at Yoshi's senior coworker's place

The man, let's call him "Mr.M", has been in Toronto for 5 years, dispatched to one of the subsidiaries of Yoshi's company based in Japan. He is happy living here in Canada. So do his wife and girl, Ai-chan. 5 years in Canada is enough for Ai-chan to be fluent in English. You know, she is still as young as 10 years old.
Kids' flexibility is just admiring!

The other people invited were Mr.N, his wife and daughter. He is also Yoshi's senior coworker. His daughter Tomomi-chan is to be 17 years old this year. Still flexible enough to get used to her surroundings.

There were 8 people altogether.

The gathering time was 3 in the afternoon but, hey, wasn't it too early for dinner or too late for lunch? Yoshi and I were skeptical about the time indicated in the e-mail.. It turned out to be right, though.

I like it there because Mr.M likes drinking. I used to drink quite often with friends, but not after being married. I don't have many chance. But every time we go to Mr.M's place, he offers refill to my glass continuously! Thanks to Mr.T, I automatically have a plenty of beer and wine! Heh, heh!

Mr.N is a quite eccentric but lovable person.
He is funny in his way of speech, thoughtful when speak to kids. He is good at entertaining people by nature, I think. ... Not in a general way, though. You could call him a geek, heh, heh.

The two senior coworkers' wives are older than me. They both make fantastic house makers. I'd really like to be a good wife like them! Mrs.M made neat O-Sechi. Mrs.N made Japanese style fried chicken that is nice'n tender and tasty.
... I hope my Tirami Su is as tasteful and tasty as their food.

We were chitchatting until the dinner started.
It was a Japanese style hot pot, which Yoshi and I longed to eat. We don't have a Do-Nabe or gas stove.
Wow, we were so overstuffed!!
... and I was so tipsy almost drunk!

We had a blast !
I found it comforting to speak in Japanese.
Oh, I must mention this. My Tirami Su cake ruled !! (giggle) The people liked it a lot except for Mr. M, who is on a diet. Yoshi, Mrs.M and Tomomi-chan ate 2 pieces. Even little Ai-chan ate 1 & 2/3 pieces (2/3 was from Mr.M).
I am sorry, I was going to upload the image but ...
I forgot to take pictures!!!
