Spring has come without having suffered from freezing cold winter.
People were glad with the climate, the warm winter, as far as I know. As for me, cannot help but worrying our future world. It must be global warming getting deteriorated.
Have you seen The Day After Tomorrow, the movie? I adress, the story is not just fiction, but warning us all.

Please check out a piece of report below. It is a story about Arctic ice getting smaller and thinner because of global warming.

People in Norway said winters are warmer than 5 years ago. I have been feeling the same way for the past years! I remember snow lies with its surface as high as my chest when I was 7. I got stuck in a ditch. My mom laughed a lot seeing me home covered with snow. I have not seen the snow that much these years.

Let's do something good for reducing carbon dioxide and stop green house effect!

Tsunami aid effort gains momentum

It's been a week since the deadly earthquake and gigantic tsunami hit Southeast Asia. They are about to stop to rescue the missing people. 7 days are too long to survive after the tragedy. However, the aid for the refugees is gathering from the world.
I have been reading the news articles about it. It is getting clearer and clearer what is going on out there.

I read the interview with a 16 year-old girl who survived the tsunami. She was at home sweeping the floor at the time. There was a friend of hers outside yelling at her "Run!" So she found the waves were coming. The first wave was as high as her knees, second hit her shoulders and then, the massive one was way over houses!
Oh, my ... !!
She was swept away in a flash. She saw many of her friends pulled out to the sea. She saw her mother pulled too. Her head split in two when hit by a tree. She had nothing to do then.
She grabbed a dog's leg as it floated by her. Thank God, the dog was swimming against the wave, pulling her to the water surface. So she survived.

For the two days after the earth quake, the victims had had no food, no water or no clothes. How could the God do this to the people? See the picture above. Banda Aceh, the nearest village to the epicentre completely washed away.
And, this is too nonsense to wonder but, how many Japanese people suffered the ordeal?

Small casualty toll among wildlife intrigues biologists

It is said that animals can sense natural disasters to be happening in advance.
It is quite likely true.
According to an article from the Globe and Mail, the Canadian news paper, no dead animals are found after the fatal earthquake and Tsunami in Sumatra Islands.
How can it happen while hundreds of thousand of mankind drowned!

There hasn't been any scientific proof yet but, isn't it wonderful? We could forecast those natural disasters by observing animals!!

インドネシアの地震と津波で、野生動物は殆ど死ななかったらしい。
ゾウどころか、うさぎ一匹の死体も見つからなかったのですって。
不思議です。。

The Globe and Mail: Tsunamis kill thousands

What a terrible thing, Tsunami attacked the coastlines in Southeastern Asia.

According to the new paper, the epicentre was kilometers off shore of Indonesia, it was 9.0 magnitude earthquake taken place under the ocean.
I can't believe more than 13,000 people were killed.

I am living in Toronto, Canada now, but originally from Nagano. It is said that massive earthquake will coming to Nagano someday in the near future. I was frightened that it is not just a disaster happened in faraway countries. It could have been my friends or relatives who were killed, if it happened to Nagano...

By the way,
it is a kind of cliche, every news announcer tells us how many Japanese were killed or injured, following what and how it happened.
It looks like the same in Canada. In the newspaper, what they focused on was either the Canadian were killed. I think the way of broadcasting is in common world wide.
They are professional. Professional work for broadcasting news means accuracy and quality of information that viewers want to know. I know they are following the theory. It usually sounds like cold-hearted, though.
10 Japanese people killed? So what?! Don't you care if there was no Japanese there? ..... See, what I mean?

I am sorry about the tragedy...
