Who take care after I die and what?

2014-06-12 | what's up?

June 12, 2014

I felt a kind of sad when I heard Shuzo-san say "I am not going to live long. Take good care of Fuji after I die." in the  NHK morning serial drama "Hanako & Anne." I thougt I don't have anyone after me to ask for taking care of somebody. And then I realized, Oh, I don't even have anybody to care after I die.

That's how it is going to be not to have children.

... Sorry, too weepie!

By the way, Suzo-san is a grandfather of Hanako, the lead character. Fuji is a daughter of Suzo-san and Hanako's mother.

I like "Gochiso-san" bether than "Hanako," though!

struggle with wild bird

2014-06-03 | what's up?

June 3, 2014

This morning, after I came back home from a dog walk, I heard a subtle metalic squerky sound somewhere close to me.

At first I just thought I heard things. Then I thought bugs or something crashed into the window but it seemed not. Finally I found that the noise came from the bottom of the chimney of the wood stove. It turned out to be the noise of a little bird that had follen into the chimney and been trying to get out.

This is the first time in 5 years that a bird gets stuck since I moved in. Holly, it really happens.

I had no idea what to do. I tried to took the chimney apart but it didn't go well. Then I came up with the damper to open so the wood stove and chimney connect. It worked this time. The bird came out into the wood stove soon after.

So, how to get the bird out then?

I didn't want it to fly around the room with its ash-dusted body from head to toe. I was going to catch it by hand in the wood stove but I couldn't. Sounds funny but I felt it was ferocious! It seemed to peck me hard to death! Ha,ha! Defensive action.

I came up with a small fish net I used to use for my sweet gold fish, which died years ago. Finally I successfully get the bird out to the sky!

Funny morning, it was.

Spanish class

2014-04-12 | what's up?

Apr 12, 2014

I had a Spanish class last Thursday, which has been the first time in the past two months since the week before the heavy snowfall. I had literally lost access to my teacher's because the narrow pebbled path to his house was blocked by snow.

It is so fun to study Spanish. I mean, understanding foreign languages is fun for me. In our class, we translate an article from BBC into Japanese. It is just like cracking a code. Imagine how you feel when doing crossword? It feels just like that.

My teacher gives us (only two students including me) latest eye-popping topics every time. So it is also interesting to know the new things.

... It has been 3 years since I started to study but I cannot speak Spanish yet... That's the problem! Translating is not at all perfect for improving speaking skills.

boundary

Apr 10, 2014

For these past months, I have used this blog only for a memo to remember things. It is not at all interesting. I'm sorry.

I started this blog as an English journal in order to improve my output skills. I wanted to explain myself in English fluently. I thought keeping a journal seemed the best exercise. When I started this, not so many people knew what "blog" was. It seemed no problem for me to show my private. Now, things have changed quite a bit and I can hardly disclose myself now. I am worried what if people around my real life detect I am wrinting this and know my real intention.  Yes, I was this honest in this blog before. That's the reason I rarely post recently.

I am not considering to close this blog. I just need some more time to consider where to set a boundary between what I can post about and what I can't.

gyoza dumpling

2013-12-11 | what's up?

Dec 11, 2013

I don't like to make gyoza dumpling because it never comes out well. Last evening something made me want to cook it all of a sudden. I don't know why.

And then, sure enough, it didn't come well as usual. I was upset as usual. I said grumpily, "I will never make dumpling! Ever again!" Then Yoshi was like, "... but, this tastes not bad, well, good actually. "  .... It took me a second to realize, ....Oh, Yoshi made a compliment .... He is a person who hardly compliments. I pretended to keep grumpy after that because I felt a bit embarrassed at my childish attitude, but actually his words made my day!
