ビリー・ジョエルの16年振り、一夜限りの来日公演が来年の1月24日に開催されることを記念して、日本独自企画のライブ・アルバム『LIVE THROUGH THE YEARS -JAPAN EDITION-（ビリー・ザ・ベスト：ライヴ！）』発売されたので購入しました

 

 

デジタル配信でリリースされた『LIVE THROUGH THE YEARS』をベースにしつつ、世界初CD化音源や過去の限定盤に収録されていた楽曲を大幅に追加収録したものとなっていて、高品質Blu-spec CD2仕様です

TOWER RECORDSで購入したので、先着購入特典としてチケットホルダーが付いてきました

テレビやラジオ用等として収録されたライヴ・アーカイヴをリリースしているIAC MUSIC JAPANのレーベル“Alive The Live”から、ビリー・ジョエルの作品が昨年に引き続き2枚リリースされたので購入しました

1枚目は『LIVE IN 1978（邦題：ライヴ・イン・メリーランド1978）』です。『52nd Street』リリースに伴い行われたワールド・ツアー中、1978年10月3日にメリーランド州ランドバーでの公演をPBSラジオのスペシャル番組用として録音したものが収録されています

Chicago CHRISTMAS：WHAT'S IT GONNA BE, SANTA?

先日紹介したChicagoのクリスマス・アルバム『Chicago XXV：THE CHRISTMAS ALBUM』ですが、フィル・ラモーンのプロデュースにより追加録音された6曲を加え、曲順を変更した上で2003年に『Chicago CHRISTMAS：WHAT'S IT GONNA BE, SANTA?』のタイトルでRHINOから再発売されています

 

 

Chicagoの旧作の版権がRHINOに移り、初期作品のリマスターを行ったことを機に本作が企画されリリースされました。なお、本作は公式アルバム数としてはカウントせず、25作目の再構成盤という位置付けのようです。
