先日、「ドクターヘリ」のことについて記事を投稿したところ

次のようなコメントがありました

こんばんわ、湖の麓様。

アメリカに頼んで、オスプレイを実験で一機入れてもらえないでしょうかね。
故障や事故率は過去の数値のようですし、
ヘリより速くて航続距離が長いのなら、
とても有用かと思います。
病院設備丸ごと移動可能なら、とても役に立ちますよね。

戦争の道具ではなく、人命救助の道具として
活躍できれば良いな～と、思いました。

以前、中学生の生徒がアメリカの芸能人にファンレターを英語で書いたら返事が来たことを思い出しました

それで、ホワイト・ハウスの住所で検索したところ

が見つかり、大統領は様々な人からの手紙やコメント、メールを大歓迎していると書かれていたので書きました


内容、訳せますか？

Dear President Obama,


Greetings from Hokkaido, Japan.

I know that you are terribly busy but I just came up with an idea.


This is the news article writing about the doctor helicopter in Hokkaido.

As you can see on the picture to the right, there’s three red circles on the island of Hokkaido.

Do you know what this mean? It means that there exists only three doctor helicopters in the vast

island of Hokkaido.

The red dot inside the green area is Sapporo. The red one in the purple is Asahikawa and the

one in the orange is Kushiro.

The red circle’s radius is 100km. Yes, 100km! That means it takes at least over an hour to

drive by car. So what I want to say is that even if the ambulance runs at the full speed, it

takes that long.

Please think or imagine if your beloved family member is really sick, say like a heart attack or

apoplectic stroke. Do you think he or she will survive? I DON’T think so.

It is a matter of 10 minutes or so. We need more doctor helicopters.

Look at the parts that are white or yellow. Those who live there are not able to get the

advantage of doctor helicopters even if they are about to die. It means if there’s any

American tourists around there happened to have a heart attack, they just are carried in an

ambulance and it means they will not live.

The problem with Osprey, why don’t you suggest that your country or your army (Air Force)

will fly for the urgent patient. That will surely touch the Japanese people’s heart.

It is not just the minister of foreign affair who are responsible for those things. People to

people, or person to person, I guess can do something. It may be a little start, but isn’t that

like the work of Mother Teresa?

I know that you are terribly busy, but I will be happy if I can hear from you.
