Vista Ubuntu 超初心者 - 5 (無線LAN比較)

手持ちの無線LANカードの性能比較（使い勝手の私見）を書き出しましたので参考迄です。
下記リストはWicd Manager (Wireless Interface Connection Daemon) での受信強度比較。

Windows で利用するのであれば内蔵Intel 4965AGNが良いと思いますが　未だに Injection Mode が成功した Report を見付けられません　I-O Dataもかなり受信は良さそうですし　現在チップ ar9170 用 Linux Driver が開発されてます。Ubuntuでも繋げるだけであれば同じ順番だと思いますがモバイル利用でInjection Attackが必要な場合はNECかBuffaloを使ってます。但し、Wesside-ng (auto-magic tool for WEP aircrack)はサポートされてません。

Vista Ubuntu 超初心者 - 4 (ndiswrapper)

I-O Data 無線LAN USB WN-GDN/US2 が ndiswrapper を使って Ubuntu で繋がりましたので参考用に紹介します。
最初は簡単に繋がると思って始めましたがWindows用の IO-Data製WINGDNY25.INF では上手く行かないので内容を確かめると

チップは Atheros 9170 なので同じチップを利用してる D-Link の arusb_xp.inf の　Vendor番号 と Product番号 を書き換え利用しました。

の数カ所を　07D1==>04BB  3C10==>093F　に全て置換。

arusb_xp.sysもDesktopに置いて端末から

Load the new driver module

以降は確認

で確認するとインターフェイスは

後は無線LANの繋がりがNetwork-Managerでは悪かったので　wicd をインストールしましたが気に入らなければ　Synapticで再度 Network-Manager をインストールすれば削除できます。　（設定　無線インターフェース: wlan2?は環境に合わせて設定必要）。

参考までに　ar9170 に書かれてますが　「Linux Driver is available using git.」 自分にはハードルが高すぎた。
