だいたいナナメか、垂直に立ってるよね。
Well you can see it tilted, or almost upright,

なんでこんな立ってる面が「デスクトップ」なんだよ！
Why you call that upright surface a DESKTOP!
もの置いたら落ちるよ！
You put things on it, and they all drop!

で、そのデスクトップね。
And the desktop.
パソコン使う時は、ウィンドウを開くよね。
When you use your PC, You will open windows on it.

なんで机の上に窓開けるんだよ！
Why you open WINDOWS on the DESKTOP!
窓開けるのは、壁だろ！
It's a WALL, where you open windows!
机に開けたら、それもう窓じゃなくて穴だろ！
It's not a window, it's a HOLE, on the top of the desk!

あと、アメリカ人は机に壁紙貼るのかよ！
And do Americans ever put WALLPAPERS on your DESK?
机に敷くんなら、ランチョンマットだろ！
Isn't it a LUNCHONMAT on the desktop!
