Maurice Richard:in canada,more children play soccer than any other sports,but ice hokey is also popular.
many children dream of becoming professional ice hokey players.
for them,ice hokey players are special.
one famous canadian ice hokey player is maurice richard.
maurice was born in 1921 in montreal,canada.
when he was growing up,he enjoyed ice-skating,baseball,and boxing,but he loved ice hokey the most.
when he was 14,he started plaing ice hokey at school and got a job with his father when he was 16.
then,when he joined an amaetur ice hokey team.
when maurice was 21,he started plaing for a professinal ice hokey team called the montreal canadiens.
maurice soon became an important player on his team,and he was the first player ti get 50 goals in one seson.
he was strong and skated very first,so people started calling him "The Rocket." when he played,his team won many games.
he helped the montreal canadiens to win the stanley cup eight times.
maurice stoped playing ice hokey in 1960.
we was professional ice hokey player fir 18 years.
when maurice died in 2000,many canadians were sad.
people loved him because he was one of the greatest ice hokey players in history.
he is still remembred becauyse there is an award called the maurice "Roket" richard trophy.
every year,it is given to the player who gets the most goals in one season.
