11月26日TOEIC受験メモ

もう2日が過ぎてしまったので、どんどん忘れていってます。
パート７の問題を思い出して、メモっておこう。

○　ダブル・テキスト問題
　　新しい日本人のCEOが、着任前の顔合わせに来る、という
　　社内メモ。レセプションなどの手配をする担当者からのメモで、
　　ランチミーティングに出席希望者の登録方法などが書かれてあった。
　　問題のひとつに、どこで、CEOが公式の挨拶をするか、というのが
　　あって、ホールの名前だったか、を選ぶものがあった。
　　
　　社内通信の下には、ランチを手配するケイタリング・サービスの
　　会社宛メールが載っていて、この会社の業種を尋ねる問題もあった。
　　cateringを選ぶ。

○　ダブル・テキスト問題
　　principal consultant職への応募の手紙。
　　職歴が書き連ねてあった。
　　問われたのは、社員管理ソフトの開発経験と
　　analyst達へのtrainingを行ったのは、どこの会社であったか、という点。
　
　　応募者の職歴に興味を持った、という会社からの返事。
　　特にhuman resourcesでの経験に注目している。

○　ダブル・テキスト問題
　　近所の街灯が、十分明るく点っていないので、ケアを頼む手紙。
　　役所に宛てたものだった、と思う。
　　問題となっているエリアは、どんなエリアか、との問い。
　　residential areaにしたかなあ。不確か。
　　街灯が暗くて、影響を受けるのは　→　pedestrians

役所からの返事。すぐ対応( address )する、という、ここ問題。
　　addressの意味。
　　すぐに対応すると決めた理由は？　→　busy streetだから。

○　窓の取替え工事を知らせる、お知らせメールもあった。
　　メールだったか、手紙だったか、曖昧。
　　何階が工事予定に入っていないか？　→　８階
　　各階担当者は、何を留意すべきか？　→　工事関係者が各オフィスに
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　入れるように準備

○　講演会のスケジュールがあった。うろ覚え。
　　international businessに関心のある人が出るべき講演は
　　何曜日にあるか？　→　Wednesday

○　職業訓練校？ビスネス・スクール？から卒業生へ
　　アンケートへの回答を願う手紙。
　　graduatesを選んだ記憶があるけど、どんな質問だったかな。
　　
○　ダブル・テキスト問題
　　人事担当者から、求人応募者宛の手紙があった。
　　resumeには、一番長く勤務した会社名を書くように、
　　と指示があり、ここが問題。　→　最長５年のinsurance ～（忘却）

　　下には、応募者から送られた、とみられる履歴書の一部。
　　数ヶ月から５年間まで様々な、職歴が記されていた。

パート１の写真：
○　デスクで隣り合いに座る二人の女性。スケジューラーを手に
　　話し合っている。
○　手袋をはめて、作業する女性。
○　テーブルの上に並ぶ、ペットボトル。
○　ブラインドの隙間を少し開け、外を見ている男性。
○　絵はがきのラックを見ている男性。
○　テーブルに横並びに座っている３人の女性。

帰宅してから、思い出してメモしておいたのですが
すぐに忘れてしまいます。記憶の彼方へ、飛んでいってしまいました。　　

Poisoned ex-spy "Hunted down"

こんなことが現実社会で起きてたとは、信じられないような話です。
元KGBの一員だったAlexander Litvinenko氏の死因は
ポロニウムという放射線物質と判明し、ロシア情報機関の関与が
ますます囁かれています。

リトビネンコ氏がスシ・バーで会った人物が、その時の様子を
語った、との記事がありました。

自らの放射能汚染を恐れる、スシバーの情報提供者

Mario Scaramella, the Italian self-styled defence consultant
who was with Alexander Litvinenko when he ate at a London sushi bar,
fears that he too may have been poisoned by radiation
and wants to visit London for medical tests.
Mr Scaramella, who is in hiding, said yesterday that
he was not seeking police protection. But he added that
he believed he was a potential target.
自称防衛コンサルタントのマリオ・スカラメッラ氏は、自分も放射能に
汚染されたのでは、と恐れ、医療診断をロンドンで受けたい、としている。
警察の保護を求めていなかったスカラメッラ氏は、自らの居場所を隠しながら
自分も命を狙われている、と付け加えた。

He told Corriere della Sera that Mr Litvinenko had been killed
because he “knew too much”, and those such as himself
who had “secret knowledge” were also in danger.
He added that he had no doubt that the Kremlin was
behind the death of Mr Litvinenko.
イタリアのCorriere della Sera誌に、リトビネンコ氏は、あまりに多くを
知り過ぎていたため、抹殺された、と語り、自分自身も極秘事項を
知っているので危険だ、と述べた。また、必ずロシア政府が関与している、
と付け加えた。

He said that at the sushi bar he had shown Mr Litvinenko
a list of people that the FSB, the KGB’s successor,
was targeting, including Mr Litvinenko.
彼は、スシバーで、リトビネンコ氏にFSB (旧KGB)が標的としている
人名簿を見せた、と述べた。その中にリトビネンコ氏自身も
含まれていた。

Others on the list included Boris Berezovsky, the Russian oligarch,
Paolo Guzzanti, an Italian senator who headed the Mitrokhin Commission,
an official parliamentary investigation into KGB activity in Italy
during the Cold War, and Mr Scaramella.
リストには、プーチンの政敵ベレゾフスキー氏、冷戦中のKGBの活動を、
イタリアで捜査中のMitrokhin委員会、委員長を務めるパオロ・グザンテ氏
そしてスカラメッラ氏などが含まれていた。

Mr Scaramella also claimed that Moscow had tried to kill him before,
by using Camorra (Naples Mafia) hitmen, and that he had helped
to foil an attempt on the life of Mr Guzzanti by Ukrainian agents,
who smuggled grenades into Italy in bibles but were arrested.
スカラメッラ氏は、ロシア政府は以前、ナポリマフィアを使って
スカラメッラ氏殺害を試みた、と主張。また手榴弾をこっそり持ち込んで

Mr Scaramella said that he had questioned former KGB agents,
including Mr Litvinenko, on behalf of the Mitrokhin Commission.
He insisted that he was not involved in Mr Litvinenko’s murder,
even though he was with the Russian at the restaurant.
スカラメッラ氏は、以前リトビネンコ氏を含む元KGB職員に、
Mitrokhin委員会を代表して、質問をしたことがある、と話し
自分はリトビネンコ氏とスシバーで一緒だったが、この事件には
関与していない、と述べた。


元KGB、現FSBの闇は本当に深くて恐ろしい。小説を地で行くような事件です。
数年前、ウクライナの大統領候補が、『毒』を盛られて、
顔が別人のようになった事件が記憶に残っています。
先月は女性ジャーナリスト、ポリトコフスカヤさん射殺事件が起りました。
ロシアのイメージ、私の中では大分悪化ました。
大きな影響力を持っている国だから、尚のこと恐ろしい。

The Chelsea midfielder is confident

今までのところ、名声に見合う輝きを、時々しか放ってない二人が

carries particular weight with first meeting second.
二人はマンU戦で初めて、プレミアリーグの試合の重み、

Chelsea's manager Jose Mourinho employed the interesting psychology
in midweek of saying Ballack had not played well at Werder Bremen
and Shevchenko is set to start after having been a substitute
on Wednesday
モーリーニョはブレーメン戦で、面白い心理戦略を用いた。
バラックのプレーは良くなかった、と言い放ち、
シェフチェンコは、控え選手に回し、後半出場させたのだ。

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will return for The Blues
after suspension and he expects the clash to bring the best
out of Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko.
停止処分から復帰するランパードは、この試合でシェフチェンコが
ベストの調子を期待している、と述べた。

Shevchenko has yet to hit top form for the English champions
even though he has scored three goals in his last five games
for the Blues.
ここ5試合で3ゴールのシェフチェンコだが、まだまだ本調子ではない。

But Lampard believes the high-profile top-of-the-table clash
could be the perfect stage for the former AC Milan frontman
to make his mark.

今月もTOEIC

今年5回目のTOEICを受けてきました。
う～ん、久方ぶりにマークする箇所がズレてしまい、参った。
リスニングの、No.90の答えを次の列の一番上、No.91にマークしてしまい、
そのまま4～5箇所進んでしまっていた。
気付いてからは、A,B,のように文字でメモしておいて、
100問終わってから、正しい箇所をマークし直したんだけど、
95,96,97は、すっぽり抜け落ちてしまい、たぶんここは全滅。は～。

気を取り直して、リーディングに取り組みました。
忘れないうちに、メモっておこうと思います。

リーディングの時間配分は、結構うまくいったかな。
140問終えて約時2時。Part6はさ～っと終えて、2時7分位。
181問目は2時35分頃に開始だったので、割合落ち着いて取り組めました。
などと思っていると、気付かないところで、
案外、勘違いしていたりするんですよね。

近くて便利な会場なので、家に居た夫に送ってもらいました。
12時に家を出たら、道路が少し混んでいて、20分ぎりぎりに到着。
ちょっと焦った。

受験者の数、今回もかなり少なかったようです。
4教室のみ。1教室に約30名の受験者。

今回、なぜか担当の試験監督者の女性が、2時半には『あと30分です。』
2時50分には、『あと10分です。』と、いちいち知らせてくれましたが、
集中が途切れて、ちょっと有難迷惑。
今まで通り、時間管理は個人に任せてほしいなあ。
リスニングが46分、と1分多い為、3時1分に終了でした。

対ブレーメン戦

まず一言、俊輔くん！ブラ～ボ～！！

The Japan midfielder scored with a spectacular free kick
to give the Scottish champion a place in the knockout phase
for the first time.
マンU相手に、決勝点のFK! 素晴らしいです。
イギリス各誌も多いに喝采を送ったようですね。
セルティックは、早々とknockout phase決勝トーナメントへの
進出を初めて決めたそうで、めでたい事です！
ファーガスン監督は、“It's just the shock of losing, to be honest,
that is hard to take.”とショックを隠せない様子。この敗戦が
週末のチェルシー戦にどんな影響を与えるか、楽しみです。

で、そのチェルシーもブレーメンに負けてしまったのですがーーー
ノックアウト・ステージへの進出は決定しました！イエ～ィ！
しかも、ブレーメンも一緒にグループステージ突破できる可能性が大きくなって
密かに喜んでおります。一位チェルシー、二位ブレーメンで
グループステージ通過、が理想的って思ってるものですから。
バルセロナさん、ごめんなさい。

CHELSEA OFFICIAL SITE Nov.22より：
There’s an unusually subdued build-up to this Champions League match
for Chelsea, what with Man Utd looming like the Eiger on the horizon.
Man Utdとの試合が迫っていたので、ブレーメン戦前は、珍しいほど、
冷めていた、というか気持ちの高まりが見られなかったそうで、

It’s partly because José Mourinho has the luxury of knowing that
a point at Bremen’s Weserstadion will guarantee first place
in Group A because of head-to-head results against the other contenders.
なぜかというと、ブレーメン戦を引き分ければ、グループA一位通過が
決まるから。監督も楽観的、だったみたい。次試合はバルサ、
ブレーメンの直接対決で、お互いのつぶし合い。
次はこちらの試合の方が面白そうです。

今日の記事からいくつか拾ってみました。

ESPN Nov. 23

Drogba hurt his ankle after falling awkwardly from a challenge
by Naldo and Ballack suffered studmarks on his calf following
a scything tackle from Pierre Wome.
ドログバ選手は、おかしな落ち方をして、足首を、バラック選手は
scythingなタックルを受けて、ふくらはぎを、それぞれ怪我をしてしまった
ようです。（scythingってどんなタックル？調べても、載ってません。）

But Mourinho said: 'Ballack's injury is nothing special. It is just pain.
でもモーリーニョ監督に言わせると、バラック選手の怪我は、
たいしたことはなくて、相手のスパイクが当たって、ちょっと痛んでいるだけ、
らしい。何か、とても軽い言い方です。。。
'The opposing player put his studs on his muscle and it is just painful.

'Didier is the same. He has a pain in the ankle but it is nothing
serious. Normally, he will be fit enough for Sunday.''
ドログバ選手も同様で、なにも深刻な怪我ではなくて、日曜の試合には
十分出られる、とのこと。

Mourinho was unhappy with the defeat but his manner was tempered
by the knowledge that victory over Levski Sofia in their final game
at Stamford Bridge will see them reach the last 16
of the competition as Group A winners, with their head-to-head record
against Bremen already sealing their progress.
監督は、敗戦は残念そうだったが、レフスキ・ソフィアの勝てば、
決勝ラウンドへ一位通過できるので、落ち着いている、らしい。

Mourinho added: 'Ballack did not have a good game. I think
our midfield missed Frank Lampard because he is responsible
for the first phase of the game. Lampard is important because
he affects the performances of everybody else in that department.
中盤にランパードがいなくて、バラックもよい試合が出来なかった、
ランパードは中盤の出来に影響を与える、重要なプレーヤーだから。
'We did not have enough power in attack in the last 20 minutes
because we lost Drogba through injury.
ドログバを欠いたので、最後の20分間、攻撃力が十分でなかった、
とも、おっしゃっています。


TIMES ON LINE Nov.23

Chelsea joined Liverpool in the first knockout round of
the Champions League last night, but a distinctly
uncomfortable passage could have come at a heavy price.
リヴァプールと共にCL予選突破したチェルシーだが、
先行き暗雲が立ち込めている。
A 1-0 defeat by Werder Bremen guaranteed them qualification
by virtue of their superior head-to-head record against the German side,
but José Mourinho’s biggest concern is injuries to Didier Drogba and
Michael Ballack, which could rule them out of Sunday’s Barclays
Premiership match against Manchester United.
モーリーニョの一番の気がかりは、ドログバとバラックの怪我。
マンチェスター・ユナイテッド戦欠場もありうる。

The Ivory Coast striker hobbled off in the 59th minute,
having earlier rolled around clutching an ankle
after a clash with Torsten Frings, while Ballack was removed

We knew that Bremen were a strong team but the match was pretty open
and we deserved a draw. It was a pity that Didier Drogba injured
his ankle because I wanted him, Andriy Shevchenko and Arjen Robben
to play together at the end to increase the pressure on Bremen.
Drogba couldn't carry on, but it isn't a serious injury
and he should be able to play [against Manchester United FC] on Sunday.
Now we want to win our last game against [PFC] Levski Sofia
and finish as group winners.

ブレーメンは強豪だが、試合はかなりルールが緩かった。引き分けても
よい試合だった。ドログバにいてほしかったが、怪我で残念だった。

We settled into the game very well and put pressure on Chelsea right
from the start. It was important for us to score the opening goal.
Once we had done that Chelsea were not particularly dangerous.
We expected to come under pressure at the end and that was the case,
but we also had chances to score a second goal on the break
and overall we performed well.
フリンクス選手談：
始めからチェルシー右サイドにプレッシャーをかけ、上手く試合を運べた。
先制点を奪うことが大切だった。先制すれば、チェルシーはそう危険な
相手じゃない。最後の方に攻め込まれる、と予想していたが、その通りになった。
しかし、こちらも2点目を奪うチャンスがあった。全体によい出来の試合だった。

We did not produce our best performance tonight, but all in all
it was an even game. At the start we were too passive. We didn't want to
take any unnecessary risks but unfortunately we conceded from a free-kick
and that left us chasing the game. We knew that Bremen are good at
counterattacking so we were in a difficult situation
and in the end we didn't do enough to score.
バラック選手談：
今日はベストの出来じゃなかった。全体的にみて互角の試合だったと思う。
最初のボクらのチームは、受身的過ぎた。不必要な危険は冒したくなかったから。
残念ながらフリーキックを与えてしまい、そこから試合が動き始めた。
ブレーメンはカウンターアタックが得意だから、難しい状況だった。
結局得点出来なかった。


ブレーメンはバルサ戦引き分けでも、knockout stageへ進出できるので、
是非是非、決勝トーナメントへ行っていただきたいです。

ex-Russian spy poisoned in London

BBCは、連日、元ロシア連邦保安局中佐、アレクサンドル・リトビネンコ氏、
暗殺未遂事件を伝えていますが、日を追うごとに謎が深まっているようです。

The mystery surrounding poisoning former Russian agent
Alexander Litvinenko deepened tonight.

The doctor said they don't know what he was poisoned with
and might never find out.

Doctor:
We have done a series of investigations here
and based on his presentation and some of the laboratory test
that have come through, it is possible that he may not have been
poisoned with thallium, although we can't completely exclude this,
because of timing of his presentation at our hospital.

We are exploring other possibility of another avenues
but it is also quite possible that we may never find ultimate cause.

Britain put its crack antiterrorism police unit
on the case of a for Russian spy who was fighting for his life
on Monday after being poisoned in what his friends called

Russia dismisses as "pure nonsense" suggestions
it had ordered the murderof former agent Alexander Litvinenko, 41,
an outspoken critic of President Vladimir Putin.

年齢がBBCと食い違っている？

Litvinenko checked into a hospital at the biginning of the month
after failing ill and was moved to another hospital
when his condition worsened.

Toxicology reports now show he was poisoned by thallium,
a chemical weapon that can cause a slow, painful death
over the course of weeks or months, even with treatment.

Pictures released of him Monday showed him
strapped to medical equipment in hospital, wan and bald.
Hair loss is one of thallium's effects.

The hospital said Litvinenko's condition had deteriorated
slightly overnight and he had been transferred to intensive care.
Doctors say he has only a fifty-fifty chance of surviving.

BBCの略歴によると、このリトビネンコ氏は、謎の多い、闇の世界の
人物のようです。

『1998年、当時働いていた連邦保安局、内部調査部の自分を含めた同僚4人が、
保安局から暗殺計画のターゲットとなっている、と記者会見で訴えましたが、
この会見に覆面で臨んだシュワ－リン大佐が、この記者会見自体が、
ベレゾフスキー氏(プーチンの政敵で亡命中）の指示で、
リトビネンコ氏が仕組んだものだった、と暴露しました。

連邦保安局にいたリトビネンコ氏が、拘束者を殴ったり
証拠を捏造していた疑いが生じました。裁判では無罪となり、その後
ロンドンへ亡命します。チェチェンの元幹部、ザカーエフ氏と親しくなり
チェチェンのテロリストの犯行とされた、住宅爆破事件は連邦保安局の
仕業だったとする本を書いています。

2003年、モスクワで議員が殺害されていた際も、クレムリンによる
政治的抹殺である、と非難しましたが、後にライバル議員による
嘱託殺人であることが判明しました。この時もベレゾフスキー氏が
背後にいた、と見られます。ロシア政権を常に非難していますが
1995年のTVキャスター殺害事件など、様々な事件で関与が噂されています。』

11月15日付けドイツ新聞Sportbildで、
Peter Kenyon氏がバラック選手について語っているそうです。
ちょっとホッとする記事です！

Peter Kenyon氏は、ウィキペディアによると、チェルシーFC経営面の最高責任者。

"We are content with Michael Ballack.He got used to chelsea quickly.

into our concept.But he is still able to play better.
He hasn't achieved his full strength."
私達はバラックには満足している。チームにすぐに溶け込んだし、
チームにもファンにも好かれている。彼はもっと良いプレーが出来る筈で、
まだ持てる力を十分出し切れていない、と思う。

Ballack also hopes that.He scored two P.L.-goals and one C.L.-goal.
That's not bad for a midfielder.But he was injured

またまた、ホームズです。
今週は、政府の機密書類、ブルース・パーティントン
潜水艦設計図の盗難事件でした。

完全版はなんと、ホームズの歌声から始まったので驚きました。
NHK版は結構、カットされていたのでしょうか？
それとも、自分が記憶してないだけなのでしょうか？

退屈まぎれに歌うホームズ、苛立っているホームズ、
ハドソンさんの用意した食事を、興味なさそうに蓋を取ってみるホームズ、
爪をかむホームズ、（失礼ながら、これが可愛い）
こんなシーン、今までに見た覚えがないのです。

相変わらずの早口、相変わらず歌うようなリズムの台詞、
目まぐるしい動きと、高笑い！に翻弄されるのでした。

遺体発見現場で、ひらめいた時の、興奮したような表情とハネた台詞！
It's unique! Perfectly! と叫ぶのですが、ホームズ氏こそユニークなんです。

大物スパイの家に不法侵入して、窓から、あの素敵なマフラーを
列車の屋根に投げ落としてしまいました。もったいないな～。

この時、ブルーに光る窓を背に、ホームズ、ワトスンの
二人の黒いシルエットが映るのですが、窓ガラスの模様や
シャンデリアなどが浮かび上がって、美しいシーンでした。

手がかりとなる新聞を見つけたのは、ワトスンなのに
そのワトスンに、散らかった新聞を集めて、拾って持って来い、
なんて言っている。勝手に、さっさと先に行ってしまう。これもホームズ。
愛すべきキャラクターなのです。

11月13日、キプロス戦を前にしたMB氏が、フランクフルトで、
ドイツTV局の生インタヴューを受けたそうです。
髪は元のように大分伸びたようですが、少し疲れ気味の様子だったそうです。

On wednesday you will play your 75th national team match.What are your memories of the past and your hopes and expectations for the future?
水曜のキプロス戦は代表75試合目になりますね。過去の代表戦の思い出、今後の代表戦について、何か一言ありますか？

Ballack:”I don’t like to look back when I’m still an active player.(laughing)I’m very proud to have achieved 75 national team matches.I hope,I will be able to play some more matches!My 50th match was a defeat.So I hope,that my 75th will become a win.That would be a big step to qualify for EURO 2008.My past 74 matches had highlights and lows,like other players have,too.”
現役選手の間は、過去のことは振り返りたくはないですよ。(笑）代表試合75という数字には、誇りを感じています。もう少し代表でプレーすることを望んでいます。50試合目は負け試合だったので、75試合目は勝ち試合にしたいですね。勝利すれば、ユーロ2008予選で大きな前進になりますから。過去75試合は、他の選手に関してもそうでしょうが、山あり谷ありでした。

What are your feelings after this year 2006?
2006年を振り返ってみて、いかがですか？

Ballack:”Naturally W.C.’06 was the absolute highlight this year,no doubt.It was a brillant and excellent tournament for us,very successful.We have represented germany very well.On the field and outside the field.”
今年は勿論、ワールドカップ2006の年でした。ドイツは素晴らしい成績を修めましたし、我々代表は、フィールド内でも外でも立派に代表の役割を務めました。

Ballack:”Naturally it was a very successful year,the german national team played very constantly.We won the matches and we could notice a clear developement of the team.The years before 2006 were very inconstant.Good and successful matches changed with bad performances.In the last two years we have introduced many new young players.The fans identify themselves with the team.Continously we must work very hard to achieve and preserve those good performances.We started very well into the EURO 2008 qualifying round.”
とても上手く行った年だったと思います。チームが安定していましたから。勝ち進んできて、我々のチームがとても成長したことに気付きました。2006年以前は、不安定でした。上手く勝てた試合と、拙い出来栄えの試合とがあって。ここ2年の間に、若手のプレーヤーが代表入りし、ファンもこの代表チームに馴染んできたと思います。これからも継続して頑張り、良い成績を維持して行きたいですよ。ユーロ予選も良いスタートを切りましたしね。

How is the preparation of the team before the cyprus match?
キプロス戦への心の準備は、如何ですか？

Ballack:”We want to win three points.We may not become careless.We are optimistic.The cyprus team plays at home,we must show respect,but no fear.We don’t underestimate cyprus.Me,as captain,I must influence the team that we have to play very concentrated.We must prepare us well.”

Three players will miss the cyprus match:”Poldi”,Schneider and Lehmann.Is it hard and difficult to replace them?
キプロス戦にPoldi,Schneider,Lehmannが出場しませんが、彼らの代わりを見つけるのは、難しいのでは？

Ballack:”These three players are not easy to replace.They have a lot of experience.But the substitution players are not new or without experience.They will fulfil the expectations of coach Löw.
確かに彼らの代わりを探すのは難しいかもしれません。経験豊富ですからね。でも、代わりに選出された選手たちも、経験の全く無い新人ではありません。彼らはレヴの期待に応えてくれると思います。

Are you in a good shape and are you afraid of not having a winter pause or rest this year?
体調は如何ですか？冬期に休みを取る、などという心配はありませんか？

Ballack:”I’m in a good shape and I will miss the winter pause and rest for the first time.Definetly I can answer to the question next year in spring.(laughing)But the limit of the number of matches for the players has reached.The number of league matches ,cup matches,C.L.matches and national team matches is too high.All players are on their highest limit.”
体調はとても良いですよ。初めて、冬期に休みを取らなくて済みそうです。もちろん、来年の春になってみないと、それは分からないけどね。(笑）ただ、選手たちのこなす試合数は、限界に達していますよ。リーグ戦、カップ戦、チャンピオンズ・リーグ戦、それに代表戦、ととても多い。皆、限界のところにいますよ。

What was new for you after your change to England ?
イングランドへ生活拠点を移して、何か変化したことは？

Ballack:”It’s all new,when you change the club,the city and the country:The club,the colleagues,the surroundings,the expectations.You have to fulfil new expectations.I want to fulfil the challenge of changing ,the life around the matches is new and different.I’m also watching the german bundesliga.I’m glad to be gone to England.I’m looking forward to the next years.”
クラブを移籍すると、国、街、仲間、環境、期待、全てが新しい。新しい期待に応えなければなりません。この変化に伴う難題、課題を満足行くように乗り越えねばなりません。生活、試合とも新しくて、異なっていますからね。
ブンデスリーガはよく見ています。
イングランドに来て良かったと思っています。

キプロス戦の健闘を祈っています！！！

対ワトフォード戦

11日深夜、ケーブルTVで初めて、チェルシー戦の生中継を見ました。
とはいっても、疲れていて、途中、ウトウトしちゃってました。
やっぱり、夜中の観戦は無理のようです。

で、昨夜、録画を見直したのです。解説が、噂の原朝美氏なので
バラック選手をどんな風に厳しく評するのか、と
緊張して、身構えて、見ていたのですが、
特に耳障りなコメントはなく、お褒めの言葉さえ発していました。

まず、試合前、バルサ戦を振り返って、
『バラックも本調子なら、得意なところのシュートチャンスが
3回くらいあったから、1点くらい入れられてたのじゃないでしょうか』
と、やんわりしたお言葉。

34分：バラック選手から、ランパード選手へのパスに、思わず
『上手い！バラック、上手かったですね。』
『最初、シェフチェンコへ出そうと思って、わざとズラして、
中へもっていきましたね。』
軌道修正してきたのでしょうか。お褒めでした。

素人目でみて、ですけど、けっこう得点の起点にもなって、
よく動いているなあ、と思いました。
ドログバ選手の2点目のパス出しは、バラック選手。
バラック→ドログバ→シェフチェンコ→ドログバ（ゴール）！
『バラック、シェフチェンコ、ドログバの3人で得点しました』
と八塚さんが言っていましたし。

39分：ランパードへのパスが、息が合わずに、ボールを奪われてしまい、
すぐ追いかけて行ったのですが、相手を倒してしまいました。イエローカード！
（原氏）『ランパードと合わなくて、お互い目を合わさなかったですね。
で、バラックもちょっと、カチンときて、これに行っちゃった
（足を引っ掛けに）んでしょうね。』
カチンときて、果敢に相手にチャージをかけるなんて、熱いところあって
素敵です。でも見た目は、とても冷静に見えました。

後半始まる前に、またシェフチェンコ選手と何やらお話。

48分：バラック選手シュートを放つも、浮いてしまいました。
51分：シェフチェンコ選手が3点目を入れ、ドログバ、エッシェン、
ランパードとともに、揺り篭パフォーマンスに加わっていました。

56分：ランパード選手、シュートを放ちますが、阻まれました。
ゴール前の良い位置に、バラック選手がいたのですが、
パスを出さずに、自分でシュート放ちました。
（原氏）『ランパードはバラックには、出さないな、という感じですね。』
先程の行き違いを、引きずっていたのでしょうか。。。

チームスポーツって、大変だなと思います。
人間関係を上手く作っていく能力が大切なのだあ、と
そのシーンを見て、感じたのでした。身体能力、精神力、それに
コミュニケーション力。チームメートとの関係って、いつも緊張感に
縛られているように見えます。精神的にタフじゃないと
生きていけない世界ですね。タフだなあ。

72分：交代となりました。
ベンチに戻ったバラック選手に声をかけて、労うモーリ－ニョ監督。
（原氏）『実績ある選手だけに、何か一言ね、声をかけたのでしょう。
言われた方も、納得してないにしても、一言、言ってくれると
違いますからね。』

さて、15日はユーロ予選で、キプロス戦。
活躍を期待することにします。

Schools on Suicide Watch

文部科学大臣宛てに、いじめ自殺を予告する手紙が届き
大きな騒ぎとなりました。

Schoolteachers, principals and board of education staff members
in Toshima Ward, Tokyo, have been on alert
at 31 primary and middle schools since Saturday morning
to prevent the possible suicide of a student.
自殺を食い止めようと、豊島区の３１の小中学校が週末、厳戒態勢を採った。

The unidentified student, thought to be from one of the schools,
threatened to commit suicide the same day
in a written letter sent to Education, Science and Technology
Minister Bunmei Ibuki. The student cited bulling as the cause.
伊吹文部科学大臣宛の手紙には、自殺する理由を、いじめによるもの、
と書いてあった。

In response, principals and teachers at the 31 schools
stood on alert early Saturday morning, and the ward's education board,
which had members stay overnight, sent staff to check every school.

徹夜態勢で、各学校に職員を送り込んだ。

久米宏、たけし、爆笑問題が円卓を囲んで、緊張した議論を展開してました。

しかし、石原氏の、手紙差出人を『愉快犯』とする決め付けは、不快でした。
『自殺予告するバカがいるか』とか『やるなら、さっさとやれ』など
聞くに堪えない暴言も。石原氏のように、恵まれた環境にお育ちになり
財力、権力、知識、地位をお持ちの強～～いお方に、日本人は甘ったれだ、
子供が弱く、耐性がなくなった、脳幹が弱くなった、だの言われても
『あなたのように、強くはなれません』としか、言い様がないです。

太田さんが『大人が皆、石原さんみたいな人だらけだったら、オレ、
生きて行けないと思う』って、恐る恐る言ってましたけど、ホント、同感です！
それに対して、石原氏は太田さんに向かって
『さっさと死んでいいよ。生きていなくて、いい』とまで言ってた。
これって、いじめっ子の言葉、そのままではないですか。

以前、女性蔑視発言で、不快感を抱いた方ですが
ますますその感を強めました。

今週のシャーロック・ホームズは、『ウィステリア荘』。
黒ずくめで、グリーンのマフラーをするホームズは
いつものように、美しいのでした。
頬をピクリ、と動かして微笑む表情は健在でした。

相変わらず、服を灰だらけにして、暖炉を探ったり
ギターを、ポンと叩いたりして、仕草が可愛いのでした。

それから、霧が立ち込める雑木林を、ワトスンと自転車で駆け抜ける映像は
趣きがあって、本当に美しいのでした。
これだから、ホームズは止められないんです。

ジェレミー・ブレット氏の、くせのある独特のしゃべり方。
緩急の差があるし、やっぱり、難儀いたします。
今回、家庭教師バーネット（ヴィクトール・デュランド）さんの言葉が
非常にクリアで聞き易かったのを除けば
まだまだ、このドラマのハードルは高いのでした。

『カイザースラウテルンは、新しく昇格したクラブでリーグ優勝を果たした、初めてのクラブだった。16試合に出場した。まだ若くて新人だったけど、僕らのクラブが4－0でWolfsburgを破って優勝を決めた時、ピッチに立っていることが出来た。素晴らしい気持ちだったよ。僕らは優勝の見込みなんて無かったアウトサイダーだったから。誰も僕らのクラブが、バイエルンを越えてシーズンを終える、なんて考えていなかったから。』

A great start it may have been, but it was not all sweetness and light with the “Lauterer” — more like sturm und drang — and after only two seasons Ballack was on the move again after clashing with Otto Rehhagel, the coach who subsequently won the 2004 European Championship with Greece. In the summer of 1999, shortly after his international debut, in a 1-0 defeat by Scotland, it was on to Leverkusen, where he worked under the man he still regards at the biggest influence on his career, Christoph Daum.

“I have only positive memories of my time there, which was crucial to my development as a player and as a person. It was a first rate club, playing at the highest European level, and it was great fun playing with gifted footballers like Emerson, Lucio, Ulf Kirsten and Jens Nowotny. I’m especially grateful to the coaches, Christoph Daum and Klaus Toppmoller, for all they taught me and for having such faith in me. Daum (who left Turkey’s Fenerbahce last summer and is now working in German TV) is the best coach I’ve had. I’ve had a lot of managers, but the two years I had under him did most to make me the player I am.

He didn’t talk to the other players a lot, but he did to me. He always took the time to explain exactly what he wanted from me. After training was finished, the two of us would stay and we’d do special drills to improve my touch and mobility. I learnt a hell of a lot from him.” It was at Leverkusen that Ballack started wearing the No 13 shirt, which he retains to this day.

He explained: “When I went there it was Rudi Voller’s number, and he was retiring to become the club’s sporting director. He told me that nobody else would wear the shirt and that the only other number available was 15. I said, ‘I’ll have your old number’. It became special for me, and I’ve kept it ever since. Everybody says 13 is unlucky, but it hasn’t been for me.”

Nevertheless, if Ballack’s memories of the Leverkusen years are “only positive”, they are selective ones. On the last day of his first season there, 1999-2000, he scored an own-goal that cost them the title, and when they lost 2-1 to Real Madrid in the 2002 Champions’ League final, and Germany were beaten in the World Cup Final six weeks later, the German press labelled him The Nearly Man. It took a transfer to Bayern that same summer to end all that.

He chose Munich ahead of Real Madrid. Why? “I had an offer from Real, but Bayern had won the Champions League in 2001 and were even bigger then than they are now. Also, I thought it was best for me to play in Germany in the run-up to the 2006 World Cup. I didn’t see it as deciding against Real, more as a commitment to my country.”
バラックはレアルではなく、バイエルンを選んだ。なぜか？『レアルからオファーがあった。けれど2001年に、バイエルンはチャンピオンズ・リーグで優勝していたし、現在より、さらにビッグチームだったからね。それに、2006年のワールド・カップまでの準備期間としては、ドイツでプレーするのがベストだ、と思った。レアルが嫌だった訳では決してなくて、自分の国への責任感、深く関わりたい気持ち、からそうしたんだ。』
