When I went to Izunokuni city in Jan.17,2024, I saw beautiful Mt.Fuji with little snow on the top, as it was rather warm winter in December of 2023 until beginning of January this year.
(But from mid January it became cold winter as usual and the snow covered all over the Mt.Fuji)

From the beginning of year 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19, a horrible plague, has started to spread out all over the world including China, where the first case of the disease was identified, and more than 200 other counties worldwide.
As of August 8th, there have been almost 20 million people infected with COVID-19 and about 700,000 deaths in total.
In Japan, there have been 47,000 confirmed cases and 1,000 deaths in total. The number of the cases of COVID-19 is still going up even now worldwide. There is no cure or vaccine for COVID-19 at this time.
And, therefore, people is taking the following actions to prevent the infection of COVID-19;
・To avoid 3Cs (meaning ; to avoid Closed spaces/Crowded places/
Close-contact settings.)
•To keep Social Distancing (about 6 feet between yourself and others)
•To Stay at home
•To Avoid touching your face
•To Wash your hands frequently with soap for 20 seconds each time
•To Wear face-mask

Here is my small garden beside my house. I made my scarecrow wear the face-mask in this special time, since wearing the face-mask is quite habitual manner to prevent any diseases from the old days in Japan.

Children's Day

It is Children's Day in Japan, today, May 5,2020 and is a national holiday. Traditionally, people raise Koinobori (carp-shaped windsock) in front of their house, if they have a boy in their family or get a new baby-boy born.
I have 3 boys, all of whom are already over 40 years old and even now I raise old Koinobori in my garden in this day, together with Japan's national flag.
