『日本書紀』応神天皇 15
天皇便自淡路轉、以幸吉備、遊于小豆嶋。庚寅、亦移居於葉田葉田、此云簸娜葦守宮、時御友別參赴之、則以其兄弟子孫爲膳夫而奉饗焉。天皇於是、看御友別謹惶侍奉之狀而有悅情、因以割吉備國封其子等也。則分川嶋縣封長子稻速別、是下道臣之始祖也。次以上道縣封中子仲彥、是上道臣・香屋臣之始祖也。次以三野縣封弟彥、是三野臣之始祖也。復以波區藝縣封御友別弟鴨別、是笠臣之始祖也。卽以苑縣封兄浦凝別、是苑臣
之始祖也。卽以織部賜兄媛、是以、其子孫於今在于吉備國、是其緣也。

The Emperor traveled around from Awaji and visited Kibi, where he enjoyed his time at Shodoshima. On the tenth day, he moved to the Ashimori Palace in Hata and resided there. During this time, Mitomowake came to serve him, along with his brothers and descendants, as attendants. The Emperor was pleased to see Mitomowake serve him reverently.
As a result, he divided Kibi Province and allowed Mitomowake’s children to govern it. He allocated Kawashima County to Mitomowake’s eldest son, Inahayawake, who is the ancestor of the Shimomichi family. Next, he assigned Kamitsumichi County to the middle son, Nakahiko, the ancestor of both the Kamitsumichi and Kayanomi families. He then designated Minono County to the youngest son, Owowiko, the ancestor of the Minonomi family.
He also divided Hakugino County among Mitomowake’s brother, Kamowake, who is the ancestor of the Kasanomi family. Another county, Sonono, was given to another brother, Ura-Koriwake, the ancestor of the Sononomi family.
Finally, the Emperor granted the Hatoribe region to his elder sister, Ehime. Thus, their descendants are now residing in Kibi Province, marking the origin of these families.

天皇は淡路島（あわじしま）から周り、吉備（きび）を訪れ、小豆島（しょうどしま）で遊ばれました。十日後、葉田（はた）の葦守宮（あしもりのみや）に移動し、そこに住まわれました。この時、御友別（みともわけ）が来て、彼の兄弟や子孫と共に仕えました。天皇は御友別が敬意を持って仕えるのを見て、喜ばれました。その結果、天皇は吉備国（きびのくに）を分け、御友別の子どもたちに統治させました。川島県（かわしまのあがた）は御友別の長男・稲速別（いなはやわけ）に与えられ、彼は下道臣（しものみちのおみ）の先祖となりました。次に、上道県（かみつみちのあがた）が中子・仲彦（なかひこ）に与えられ、彼は上道臣（かみつみちのおみ）と香屋臣（かやのおみ）の先祖となりました。そして、三野県（みののあがた）が弟・弟彦（おとひこ）に、これが三野臣（みののおみ）の先祖です。
