『日本書紀』弘計天皇 5
天皇、遂作殊儛。殊儛、古謂之立出儛。立出、此云陀豆々。儛狀者、乍起乍居而儛之。誥之曰、
倭者彼々茅原 淺茅原弟日 僕是也
小楯由是、深奇異焉。更使唱之、天皇誥之曰、
石上振之神榲榲、此云須擬。伐本截末伐本截末、此云謨登岐利須衞於茲婆羅比。於市邊宮治天下 天萬國萬押磐尊御裔 僕是也
小楯、大驚離席、悵然再拜。承事供給、率屬欽伏、於是、悉發郡民造宮、不日權奉安置、乃詣京都求迎二王。白髮天皇、聞憙咨歎曰「朕無子也、可以爲嗣。」與大臣・大連定策禁中、仍使播磨國司來目部小楯、持＊節 將左右舍人、至赤石奉迎。

The Emperor then performed a special dance. This special dance, called "立出 (たつづ)," involves standing up and sitting down repeatedly. While dancing, the Emperor chanted:
"The land of Yamato is like the swaying fields of tall grass, like the shallow fields of young grass. I am the young lord of this land."
Odate was deeply astonished by this and asked the Emperor to chant again. The Emperor responded by chanting:
"The sacred cedar of Isonokami at the Furude Shrine is cut from the base and trimmed from the top, making all around it bow down. Just as the deity ruled over the land from the Ichibe Palace, so too am I, the descendant of the mighty Oshiwa no Mikoto."
Odate was greatly surprised, and he left his seat, deeply moved, bowing repeatedly. He then led his people in respectful service to the Emperor. They gathered the local people and built a palace. In a short time, the palace was completed, and the Emperor temporarily resided there. Then, Odate went to the capital to request the arrival of two princes.
When Emperor Seinei heard this, he was overjoyed and moved, saying, "I have no children, so this is a perfect opportunity to find an heir." After consulting with the ministers and high officials, they decided that Odate, the Governor of Harima Province (Harima no Kuni no Tsukasa), should be sent to Akashi with his official seal, accompanied by the palace guards, to welcome the princes.
≪この英文の和訳≫
天皇(弘計、顕宗)は次に、特別な舞を踊られました。この特別な舞は「立出（たつづ）」と呼ばれ、立ったり座ったりを繰り返すものです。踊りながら、天皇は次のように唱えられました。
倭(やまと)は彼彼茅原（そそのちはら）、淺茅原（あさちはら）、弟日僕（おとひやつこ）。

小楯（おだて）はこれに深く驚き、天皇に再び唱えるようお願いしました。天皇は再び次のように唱えられました。
「石上（いそのかみ）の布留神社（ふるでじんじゃ）の神聖な杉は、根元から伐られ、上部が整えられ、周囲をなびかせる。その神が市辺宮からこの国を治めたように、押磐尊（おしわのみこと）の子孫が私である」
小楯は非常に驚いて席を立ち、深く感動して何度もお辞儀をしました。それから彼は人々を率いて天皇に敬意を払い、地元の人々を集めて宮殿を建設しました。短い期間で宮殿は完成し、天皇はそこに一時的にお住まいになりました。次に、小楯は都に行き、二人の王子を迎えに来るようお願いしました。
清寧天皇はこれを聞いて大いに喜ばれ、感激して言われました。「私には子供がいないので、これは後継者を見つける絶好の機会だ」。そして大臣（おおおみ）や大連（おおむらじ）と相談し、播磨国司（はりまのくにのつかさ）の小楯に＊節(せつ)を持たせ、左右の舍人（とねり）と共に明石（あかし）へ行き、王子たちを迎えに行かせることを決められました。
