現在84歳のチャック・ベリーさんが演奏中に倒れる！…も15分後に再びステージへ！

チャック・ベリーが、先週の土曜日1月1日にシカゴで演奏中に倒れていたことがハリウッド・リポーターによって明らかになった。

　チャック・ベリーは演奏開始から1時間後に、バンドメンバーのキーボードに突如倒れ込み、いったんステージを降ろされたものの、なんと15分後に再び演奏をスタート、そして自分の演奏を終えてからようやく医療補助員に検査してもらったそうだ。

　その後、さらにチャックはファンに感謝するためにもう一度ステージに上がり、彼のトレードマークである“ダックウォーク”を見せたそうだ。結局、彼は病院にも行かず、日曜日は彼の住むセントルイスの家でゆっくり休養を取ったらしい。

　今回の転倒についてチャックのパブリシストは、疲労によるものと明かしている。一方、チャックと共に演奏したピアニスト、ヴィジェィ・テリス・ナヤックは「彼がこういう健康状態にあるのは残念だ。彼は明らかに演奏することが大好きで、彼の演奏は今も変わらないと思う。ただ、彼の健康状態が低下しているのを見るのはつらいね。彼は無理して働き過ぎたと思う」と懸念のコメントを残している。
